Excellent site

We have stayed here many times before and always love our stay here however this time was a little different as we stayed during the Queens Jubilee and as always we was greeted with a smile at reception we were also offered tickets for a on site Jubilee celebration numbers were limited, now I don’t normally go for this sort of thing as we have teenage kids and wasn’t sure if it was for us but decided to accept the offer just to add these tickets were free and only used to make sure of the numbers they were catering for. I after say i am really glad i did accept the offer as it was great fun everyone was well catered for with coffee and tea plus delicious cakes and some celebratory fizz the staff worked hard to make sure everyone had drinks also worked hard to entertain us, now i am really sorry I didn’t get the lady’s name but i am sure she will know who i mean she was great at entertaining us and made sure everyone joined in with the singing and also human bingo fun was had by all and well done to all the team. This site is one of the best and also has plenty to offer close by good quality pubs serving food or just drinks, excellent walks for all to enjoy regardless of your abilities, and excellent views of the country side we can’t wait for our next stay in a few months.

Lovely Site

The only downside was we only had 1 night at this beautiful site. The whole site is very well kept and lovely facilities. Nice greeting on check in which was busy and the warden greeted everyone on the drive and offered all the information required to find your pitch - very well done. Pitch was level and a great size. Easy walk into Hawes takes about 5 minutes and a really nice walk (about 1/2 an hour) to Hardraw Force Waterfall - well worth a visit - the walk over the fields is lovely and well marked and easy under foot - the pub after the waterfall is a nice stop off too. Will definitely return.

Lovely site, noisy farm dogs

Currently staying on this site situated in very close to the market town of Hawes. The site is well laid out with many varied pitches. Excellent toilet block, lots of well placed water/waste/bins facilities. The dog walk is huge and well kept. As others have said it is a credit to the wardens and the club. The site is adjacent to a working farm whose owners have dogs kenneled in the barn. They bark, a lot, at all times of the day and night. If we visited again I would endeavour to get a pitch as far away from the farm as possible. Alternatively, use ear plugs so you can get a decent nights sleep. I know its a moan and I know it is beyond the control of the club but forewarned is forearmed. The area is beautiful and the site makes an excellent central base for exploring. There are many picturesque walks, one in particular leads to Hardforce where you'll find a very pretty waterfall and the welcoming Green Dragon Pub that serves excellent food and ale.

Excellent Site

Excellent site in an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. It was busy on our arrival, but site staff met visitors on the driveway onto site to explain directions to pitches and booking in procedures. Pitches are spacious and well laid out, ours gave an excellent view down the dale. The site team are friendly, helpful and approachable. The toilet block are kept in immaculate condition. For dog owners the walking field is large and well kept. Hawes is a 5 minute walk away with a good selection of shops and pubs. The site and team are a credit to the club.

Recent Stay

Only stayed for 1 night as it was fully booked. 😢 We were met by a lovely friendly warden, who immediately said he’d come and have a look when we explained we were having trouble with the gas. He sorted it in next to no time. The whole site is well looked after and facilities were spotless. We went to leave the following day and unfortunately didn’t take a corner wide enough and impaled the MH on a wooden fence. We can’t thank Dominic and Sharon enough. Sharon went into damage limitation mode, Dominc set to with his saw and chisel and eventually we were set free with a big dint in MH, and injured pride 😂😂

Midweek break with stunning scenery

Just got back from a 4 night break to the Hawes site. It was a superb break at avey well cared for site. The shower block was spotless and all the staff were friendly and approachable. Hawes itself is a beautiful little village with plenty of shops and pubs. All the staff in the pubs were friendly and inviting, and the meals enjoyable. The Wensleydale Creamery is well worth a visit, we went twice because we ate the first lot of cheese while we were away it was that nice. Quite a few waterfalls to walk to around Hawes with some stunning views and if you go to Hardraw call in the Green Dragon pub for there posh fish finger sandwiches....yummy.

There is a reason why this site gets booked up.

Friendly helpful wardens, great pitches and facilities. 5 minutes walk to the village. Loads of walks. Simply loved it. Bring ear plugs as you have owls at night at cows in the morning. It is the countryside so no complaints.

Recent stay

Just returned from a weekend stay at this site and it certainly won't be our last. Check in process was very smooth and staff were fabulous throughout our stay. Toilets were spotless and the site is maintained to a very high standard. The dog walking area is fantastic, especially for dogs that love to be off the lead. Perimeter is well fenced, contains a great little wooded area so lots of sights and sounds for the dogs to explore. Ten minute walk into Hawes, with some great independent shops and a number of pubs and cafes. We ate at the White Hart Inn on the Saturday evening and the food was superb. I would recommend booking in advance, due to its popularity. They have a dog friendly area in the restaurant, with an open fire. Lots of walks around the area with beautiful scenery to take in, with maps and directions available from reception. Fabulous site overall and can't recommend it enough, especially our serviced pitch number 120...
