Nice quiet site, access fun!

A nice site, pitches are amongst the most generous I've seen on any club site. Our visit was tarnished by very wet and windy weather, but in spite of this the pitch remained dry. Dog walk is excellent, spoiled by an arrogent minority of owners who didn't clean up after their dogs. Being on a hill, its windier and more exposed than the areas around (clue: there are quite a few windmills around) so tends to be a bit cooler. The access to the site is a bit "hairy" once you leave the main road, we were lucky as we didn't meet a tractor, bus or other outfit. Once the 'van is parked you can have fun exploring the local roads. We generally found our fellow caravanners to be a friendly bunch. Pub food around is not of a high standard, but once you accept that Burgers are the norm, you can live with it. Exception to this is the Fox & Goose at Perracombe (20 min drive) the food there is outstanding. Many pubs don't look that great from the outside, but are nice inside. We found Ilfracombe a little jaded but ok for a day visit. "Verity" is worth a visit at the harbour and parking was plentiful when we visited. Parking at other places is at a premium, especially at the beach resorts. Charges are consistent throughout as most are Council operated. £1.10 per hour up to 4 hours £4.40 is the most you'll pay.
