Pleasant, small site but with very good facilities that are well cared for by the Wardens and Assistant Wardens - all of whom were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately for us, the traffic noise from the neighbouring A303 was a little intrusive after 04.30 - but we live in a very quiet 'backwater'! If you don't mind a drive of about 50 minutes then the nearest beaches are accessible; many interesting NT, EH and RHS sites within similar travelling distance. Be prepared for early morning and late evening mists up there on the top of the Blackdown Hills under certain weather conditions.
