We found some peace even in August

We stayed here in the height of the holiday season in August for 2 nights with  a motorhome.  It was busy and it seems to have over 200 pitches which by any measure is a big site.  But we personally preferred it to the other Caravan Club site a couple of miles closer into Cromer (Seacroft) where we stayed 2 years before.  That was full and does have perhaps more facilities (swimming pool, bar etc) but to us it felt so much more crowded and squeezed in. The wardens at Incleborough literally greeted us at the barrier and (I think) assessed our needs quickly.  We were a middle aged couple with no children and a small dog and the warden suggested that if we wanted a little peace and quiet, that we might prefer a pitch in a particular area of what is a very varied and scattered site.  We took his advice and avoided the more family orientated areas and enjoyed peace and quiet for our 2 night stay in the height of the holiday season. The site facilities were excellent and they were kept that way, and we enjoyed our trips to the beach and a fantastic fish restaurant (Rocky Bottoms) a mile down the road.  I'm always loathe to recommend eating places but if you enjoy really fresh seafood caught by the owner, overlooking the sea, amid fields and only a mile from the town or the campsite, find Rocky Bottoms, on the road into Cromer.  Simply excellent food at excellent prices in an excellent setting. If we were to return to Cromer we'd stay at Incleborogh Fields again.
