Good site, but some issues

We have used this site before for one night stops en-route to and from Scotland. We like the area, so may well use it again for a longer break. But, as the major user, the Club has to do something about the approach lane, either itself, or bring significant pressure to bare upon the local authority. The potholes are of a frequency and depth as to not only risk damage to both motorhomes or caravans entering the site, but they also represent a serious trip hazard for members walking back from the nearby pub, when even by torchlight, they can be missed. The lane has never been brilliant, but it is now downright dangerous. Wardens are excellent, correcting an initial error with pitch allocation, the site being exceptionally busy. Some pitches are not at all level, and very awkward to get onto, even with a mover. Whilst the site is quirky being pitched within an old gunpowder factory, and it is nice to be in the forest, from a quality viewpoint many of the pitches fall significantly short of what you usually get at CAMHC sites, so a bit of a mixed bag. The nearby pub is quite excellent, representing good value, with friendly staff, excellent food and beer, also, I understand it is dog friendly. There is also no escaping it is in a lovely area, with several walks from the site and easy access to the wonders of the Southern Lakes. So, all in all, a bit of a mixed bag.
