Beautiful bluebells

We stayed here at the end of April when the bluebells were in bloom in the woods and it was absolutely beautiful. Our pitch was in sunshine from 10am in the morning to 6.30 at night and in a little hollow out of the wind. You can walk in a different direction each day without needing to use your car- we walked along the river to Kendal, along the disused canal to Levens Hall and through the fields to Sizergh Castle. A walk to see the sunset on Scout Scar is also recommended. Had a good meal at the Strickland Arms , only 15 minutes walk away, and the farm shop at Sizergh barn is great. The warden (Peter) even drove round to bring our gate key to our friend's pitch as we had gone straight round there on arrival without giving them our pitch number- service with a smile!
