Great location

I enjoyed my weeks stay where I hoped and did lots of hillwalking. The staff were very helpful. It would be great to get wifi here in order to get the best weather forecasts for hillwalking. Also the home BBC news is for London and not Scotland? I would thought everyone would benefit from the Scottish weather etc from BBC Scotland. I loved my stay none the less.

Mountain views

Stayed here for two nights while covering the NC500. The site has beautiful mountain views both from the site and from the nearby walks. The wardens were helpful and the site is well maintained and clean. It is divided up into smaller areas although some of these had no extra planting between plots and resembled more of a gravel car park. The nearby Whistle Stop cafe is well worth a visit with very good food, the menu being more bistro than cafe. The Angus steak pie and venison burger are well recommended.

Great site

We have just spent 13 nights at this site. What a credit to the hard working wardens. Spotlessly clean facilities and site. We arrived to pouring rain but it soon cleared up to give us a fantastic view of Beinn Eighe. The site is a perfect base for visiting the western highlands. We have been all over the area inc. Sheildaig, Gairloch, Poolewe, Applecross, Ullapool, the Isle of Skye and so on. There are some fantastic beaches around, take a map and seek them out. Somedays the weather can be much drier out at the coast. We used one of the pitch areas close to the toilet block and didn't see many midges at all. The people who pitch closer to the trees seemed to get more of a midge problem. The site shop and the service station shop both sell Smidge and Avon Skin So Soft Oil if you forget to bring your own. The pub just up,the road does great meals and sells a huge selection of whiskies and some gins. Being on EE for our mobiles and wifi provider we found that we had no signal for anything most of the time. We were told that Vodaphone has good coverage for this area.

Just one night

Staying on this lovely site for one night did not do it justice, but we were doing the Route500 and had a bit of ground to cover. We would like to return and spend a bit more time exploring this lovely part of the Highlands. The site and facilities are very good. Thank you wardens.

Friendly, convenient site.

Very warm welcome from wardens on arrival.  Great views from many pitches over Ben Eighe mountain. Modern showers and toilet block; all very clean.  Petrol station with convenience store next-door, Post Office with small supermarket and a hotel with bar & restaurant just a few minutes walk away.  Plenty of info on walks and cycling in the area.  Good little cafe round the corner with home baking & great meals.  Would definitely return.

Honeymoon

We stayed here for 2 nights while touring the West Coast of Scotland on Honeymoon. The site is lovely and peaceful. The facilities are spot on and there is plenty of info on good walks and things to do round about. We visited Kinlochewe Hotel for dinner and drinks - definitely worth a visit. When we first arrived we had a technical issue with our camper however the staff were amazing! They couldn't have been more helpful and really went out their way to help us get back on the road.  I can't recommend this site enough. Definitely worth a visit. Even with the weather being as bad as it was it didn't damper our spirits and the walks were still phenomenal. We will be returning to Kinlochewe without a doubt in the future.

Stay at Kinlochewe July 2016

Site is in a lovely setting overlooking Ben Eighe Mountain and close to Loch Maree. Very good facilities and friendly staff. Beautiful walking and cycling country, and the sun even shone for us! Short walk to Kinlochewe Hotel where there is a good bar & restaurant.

A great area for outdoor pursuits

The pitches are well spaced and the dog walking area is great. The site is well maintained. The toilets are clean and the wardens welcoming. This is a superb area for walking hiking or just touring around.

Great site

We really enjoyed our stay here despite the wet weather! There is a good dog walk on site, plenty of well spaced hard standing pitches, very pleasant wardens and more dog walking routes in the nature reserve immediately behind the site than you can get bored of. There is a surprising amount to do and see around the area if you are happy to do a bit of light hill walking and drive around a bit as there is not much locally! We were very impressed and definitely plan to return (with plenty of midge repellant!)
