Pleasant Site

Nice site close to lots of walks both gentle and more strenuous hill walks and climbing. Village store and petrol station close by offering a fairly good selection of provisions and take-away foods. Stayed five nights in August and yes the midgies were biting but they can be dealt with and should be embraced as part and parcel of this wonderful country. If they are an issue then don't come. The two wardens were friendly and dealt with everything expeditiously and, as for the complaints that they are not available from 1 to 5 what is wrong with self check-in. If it works for airlines and hotels what is the issue or are some people expecting 24 hour room service!. The site is mainly gravel which is probably just as well with an average of 1800mm rain per year. My only criticism would be of some of my fellow campers ignoring the rules about mask wearing in enclosed spaces and dog owners allowing fouling on some of the well maintained footpaths through the woods.
