Popped into this site by chance as we wanted to spend a few days riding the local MTB trails. We were greeted by Eddie who could not have been more friendly or helpful and we settled in quickly. Everything is immaculate and the facilities block is superb: bright, warm, clean and so easy to use with large cubicles containing shower, sink and loo, Lots of water points and recycling/bin areas. It's as close as you can get to a "boutique" site. It's about a 5 minute walk to a local tearoom, grocers and real butcher shop. About 10 to the local hotels/bars. There are many local signposted walks and for mountain bikers, the local 7 Stanes site, and adjoining skills area offer a good day of beginner to good/intermediate riding. There's lots more in the area although it does not have the stunning scenery of the nearby lakes or further flung Border/Galloway areas. Locals were all very friendly people and happy to see people staying in their wee town. If you have to ease someone into staying on a touring site, you should take them here - it's a lovely facility
