A Nice Site

The team at the site were really excellent. They kept the place clean and tidy and they were all really friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. There have been complaints about noise but we didn't feel that was justified. Yes, the site is close to a road and railway but pitch in a spot away from the road and the noise is not a problem and I have to say I slept well most nights I was there; the only night I did get disturbed was when some very merry guests were roaming the site in the early hours...looking for a dog I think! When we pitch we like to walk/use public transport or cycle and our only criticism of the location is the site is on a busy main road and as a consequence the walk down into Littlehampton isn't the nicest you'll experience, although it does get better after the roundabout near Morrisons. When in Littlehampton head for the West Beach for peace and quiet and great chips at the cafe near the carpark. You can walk to Arundel using local footpaths and for those that like swimming there is a heated Lido and of course the castle and a bit further up the river Arun the Black Rabbit, which does a reasonable range of food and drinks. If you don't want to walk you can catch the number 9 bus from just outside the campsite.

Lovely week away.

After reading some negative reviews, we were concerned about what the site would be like but we had a lovely time. The site is by a main road and you could definitely hear the traffic but we were pitched away from it so it wasnt as loud as i was expecting. The facilities are what you would expect but there is only one block so you might have to wait at times for showers etc. There is no shop on site which is a shame but there is a Premier in walking distance plus a Morrisons further down the road. Our only complaint about the site was the noise from other site members. Loud screaming and playing from kids as late as 10 olock at night is a bit wearing. Not much you can do about that tho. We visited lots of local attractions and loved the area. I can see us returning.

No Complaints

First time here and I must say fantastic! We had a family with no volume control next to us but….that is something out with the clubs remit. The toilets and facilities were as we would expect spotlessly clean, I note the previous review with regards to toilets being closed for cleaning, sorry but the unisex/disable toilets were always open when cleaning and we visited beginning of August. Our pitch was in a position that we could see these toilets open every day while cleaning was taking place so no worries there. A nice stroll to Morrison and if you didn’t wish to walk that far( but it might be far for some) there is a Premier closer. We didn’t think the site was noisy at all for us. If in the area we would visit again.Nice staff nothing at all to complain about.

Good location

We had a lovely break at Littlehampton. We have a motorhome and found an excellent Morrisons only about 10mins walk away which was a huge bonus. We were very worried having read the reviews about noise but it was unfounded. Yes you could hear the road and at times the trains but neither was a problem and we are very fussy about noise. The biggest problem we had with the site was that the toilet/shower block was closed for 1.5 hours every morning for cleaning with no alternative toilet. I know COVID was an issue but no toilet was an issue especially if you did not have your own facilities then you could have a problem. All the sites we have visited previously had an alternative. You can walk from the site into town or to the seafront, it is a couple of miles. We rode our bikes and walked both worked well. The local pub The Six Bells was excellent, good value pub food and only a short walk from the site.

First Time Caravaners.. PERFECT STAY!

Our stay was from Sunday 18th July 2021 - Friday 23rd July 2021. This was our first ever trip away in our newly brought caravan, we didn't know what to expect whatsoever but after a few recommendations we chose to book this site for our first 'trial' run. Everything from arrival to departure was perfect we couldn't of asked for a better trip away. The site was spotless! I couldn't fault anything whatsoever! The staff were friendly and attentive. You felt very welcome as soon as you arrived, it was like a home from home! We've never felt so relaxed, we didn't want to go home in the end, but at they say all good things must come to and end however I can promise we will be back in no time! Everyone on the site was so friendly and helped where they could! I've read a lot of reviews on here complaining about the sound of the traffic and noise but I can honestly say I don't agree with that whatsoever. I found it so peaceful and in the evening you could hear a pin drop, it wasn't loud of noisy and that road traffic was not an issue at all. No matter how great you make your site people will always find something to bicker about but from a couple that normally stay in 5* hotels abroad I have no complaints and no faults were found! I wish we would've booked a longer stay! I would recommend this site to everyone, it met and went above and beyond our expectations!

My Honest Feedback

Wouldn't be back here again ! Road noise is terrible ! Motorbikes & local cars with boom boxes playing, cars with big bore exhausts all waiting for the near train level crossing to open up 40ft truckers whizzing past all day and night I found it not laid out very well either ? IMHO. people walking through your pitch also people trying to fill aquaroll at your serviced pitch (took my Y peice off eventually) Asked the head warden about the weeds he said their strimmer had been broke for the last four weeks we stayed for 3 weeks in total and still hadn't been fixed or replaced The area around is quite run down. I believe this was a previously owned caravan site that the CAMC had taken over. The shower block was just OK ! they had a few ceiling tiles missing in both toilets washing machine room and disabled toilet as well. They don't sell anything on site not even milk ?

Just my point of view

Arrived at the site at a busy time and queued to get into register which meant our caravan was hanging off the pavement onto a very busy road, scary. The site was completely packed, we managed to get a very cramped pitch. The site is very small, with all the usual good facilities but we felt very claustrophobic. We paid for four nights but decided one night was enough! As we were due to go onto Rookesbury after four nights we asked the wardens if it was possible to transfer our fees to Rookesbury which fortunately had room for us. The reason for my review is not to diss the site as it was partly our fault for not doing our homework on the location which was town based, near a new housing estate, recycling centre, busy noisy road, not for us! I want to praise the wardens, Tony and Bev! Absolutely fantastic people, did all the transfers, didn’t make us feel bad about moving, understood us completely. What a wonderful team they are, thank you, thank you guys

Cramped site

Stayed here 3 nights in late June. Somehow it had a cramped feel with pitched outfits seeming close together. Very full when we were there. If you use the facilities block early in the morning there is no queue! Only problem for those without own sans is when they are cleaning there are NO toilets available at all! This is really unacceptable. Very convenient location for visiting Arundel and Littlehampton as bus stop about 300 yds away. Littlehampton town is nothing special, but if you walk along the Arun to the beach it is very pleasant. Also very good pub on the banks of the Arun on edge of town called The Arun View - good food. There is little if any noise from the trains and there is a village shop selling basics just across the level crossing. The Six Bells pub serves excellent food and is a two minute walk away.

A great “Base” Location

We always like this site as a great base to get out and about to local attractions …. it is clean and tidy with a useful dog exercise area and local taxis may quickly take a family (with dog) to the seaside for mini golf, crabbing, amusements and beach walking Arundel Castle is well worth a long visit, as is the town, and the local Morrisons sells LPG!!! …. which is a real bonus for filling up our underfloor tank!! I think the “men in suits” have been over zealous with the 5 max rule in the shower blocks and heaven help anyone who has a desperate need for the toilet and there is a queue!! …. when, in fact, all 5 persons allowed in may well all be in the shower at that time. Similarly … to allow only one person in to wash dishes in a four sink room is verging on the ridiculous and only a “man” could have made such a daft decision The biggest plus in life is always the hot and unlimited showers that are spacious …. but be warned that the water is very soft and if you use too much soap you will spend ages trying to get it all off your body Very friendly and helpful management ..,, and a hot food seller visits at weekends

Dissappointed

We have stayed on this site numerous times and were very disappointed with the facilities this time. Some of the service points were closed but the worst issue was the with the shower block. We stayed here last year, also during the covid epidemic with limited facilities. But the difference this year was that the site was fully booked, crammed full, and the facilities were woefully inadequate. The limit is 5 people in each block but the problem is that with a full site long, very long, queues form at peak times. When you finally got in for a shower they were dirty and wet, mainly caused by too few showers for far too many people. I am think that Caravan Club are treating its customers unfairly by asking them to put up with this and until the lock down finishes they should not be filling the sites to capacity.
