Brilliant

Stayed here over bank holiday, and cannot wait to stay again, the wardens were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble, loos and showers were always clean even though the park was full, and we had two days in longleat itself at a bargain price. The only disadvantage was the mobile signal was not good, and the clubs wi fi was not that brilliant, but that was a small price to pay for such a wonderful location. We stayed on plot number 81, and from there we could here all the animal noises, especially the penguins!!

Longleat

Stayed here for 4 nights over half term with my daughter and son in law and 4 grandchildren. It is ideally situated for Longleat and we all have annual passes. The site is fairly big and had a park, an area for ball games and a clubhouse fir table tennis and films in the evening. The children love it here and are quite happy to play on bikes and scooters. Would recommend it but as with most sites some people feel it's acceptable to drive faster then 5 mph especially when they first arrive with their caravan and are looking for a pitch.

Fab site, friendly, peaceful - a bit remote

We had a great stay for 2 nights end May. The staff are very welcoming and maintain the site to an excellent standard- everything is so clean and practical. It is wonderfully sited adjacent to Longleat and the beautiful countryside. It was an unexpected challenge to be without mobile signal tho, so be warned! We'll be back, thanks! ??

We will come again

We have just returned from our first stay at Longleat. The approach roads are a little hairy with the caravan attached, being too narrow for passing in places. We were here in Mid-May and there were plenty of pitches available in good (quiet) locations, away from the approach road which is also used by the Longleat employees so can be noisy in the morning. We bought the 5 day pass which is invaluable, of course we visited the wild-life park and the house but we also used the tickets to stroll in for coffee via the back entrance. There are supermarkets 3 miles away and plenty of takeaways and fish and chip shops. The facilities on the campsite were immaculate and with so few people staying they were generally empty. In short we loved the site and will certainly return but out of season and armed with the five day pass.

Brilliant week away

Family have just returned from a great week away at this fantastic site. Our 4 and 2 year old love the park and the main attraction being longleat, which is a must. When we were there, the site was quiet and the children could ride their bikes and scooters around the site safely. The site is exceptionally clean and tidy with good facilities for older children, like table tennis etc. The one and only thing was the road to the rear of longleat it can be noisy but that was a minor issue. It's a must we will be returning.

Excellent site

Site is well located, well set out, excellent facilities,  always clean. Shame that Longleat now charge a full day ticket for campers wishing to simply walk around the park or wanting to visit the shop or buy a  meal in one of the restaurants. We never actually visited the attraction itself.

Clean, Friendly But the Farm!

We visited Longleat at Easter, busy with Kids holidays etc but always very clean, friendly and very good for the kids with lots of activities, hearing the animals especially at night took our dog a little getting used to but it was lovely, great location with a lovely walk to a great pub (dog friendly) my only dislike about the site is if you are pitched anywhere near the road all the longleat farm traffic starts at 6am if your lucky, cant say my wife slept well all week (she is a light sleeper at the best of times) but even i struggled and i can normally sleep through anything

Disappointed

May bank holiday was the first and most probably the last time we visit the Longleat site. Whilst the wardens, cleanliness, site, family facilities (for those who use them) and situation all warrant 5 stars our weekend was ruined by 2 families with children who were obviously under the impression that they could leave the children to run riot. We had to tell them two or three times to stop running between our car and caravan and then they were riding an electric bike all round the roads on the site including after dark. When not doing that they were kicking a football around on the grass behind the toilet block and our caravan. The people in the next van had their fairly new BMW 4x4 hit on the roof, they hit an American classic car 3 times, the owner wasn't aware as they had gone out, and then to cap it all they kicked it into, for the second time in 10 minutes, and dented the caravan opposite. This left us on edge every time we heard a noise and ruined our weekend. There are several places for children to play away from the caravans but they were just left to run riot. We thought the Caravan rules were for everyone but it appears not so, sorry Longleat our first and most likely last, visit was not a happy one!
