Our first visit to Longleat and we came specifically to see the Sky Safari balloon festival on 14/9/2019. I had recently suffered an illness and this was our first holiday since then and the wardens and assistants could not have been more helpful offering to help us pitch up and also offered to help out the awning up, fortunately we managed on our own but were grateful of the offer. The site is lovely with lots of trees and the sounds of animals from the Safari Park next door was certainly interesting. Apart from a couple of days the weather was excellent. We met some friends on site from Twitter and had a great time, I love the site apart from the poor phone and data signal all was good, toilets were immaculate as were the grounds. A few idiots ignoring the speed limits failed to spoil it for us. The Sky Safari was a fantastic day we went in around 0700 to watch the mass ascension and then went back to the van for breakfast. We returned to the park around 11.00 and did the touristy stuff returning once again to the caravan for evening meal. Going back to the park around 18.30 for the Light Show where the balloons were tethered down and lit up in time to the misc it was incredible a point confirmed by 11,000 visitors in the park on the day. The beauty of being on the caravan site was being able to walk back to site and not get stuck for hours exiting car parks, we had an amazing time and wanted to thank Gail & Mark, Deb & Steve and Kay & Stuart the staff for helping us both to have an amazing week, we will definitely return next year if not before.
