Good for families

Lovely Longleat :)

Most campers leave at the 1200 deadline, we arrived at 1230 with no issues but got our tab bent. Common sense really you don't want to get caught on the road inbound when a outbound van is on its way out, it is narrow in places. Road noise from park service vehicles but you are next to the park, Sealions and wolves can be heard:) Not enough showers, 4 per block male, same ladies. Some adjustment in your arrival time will miss busy periods. Cleaning is split, the ones near the play ground close mid afternoon, worked for us. Good play ground, handy for the park. Felt a 2day ticket enough to see all, guided tours of the house in the mornings gets you into the private rooms. After 1200 its open house but not the private rooms, so we visited the house twice. Good open and well spaced pitches, but some numpty moved our peg, so lesson learnt to check peg is in the right place! Never had this before. A day at Stonehenge(prebooked times slot you in for the bus ride to the site), then a day at Bath the Baths, the Circus and then No1 Queens Parade - great kids activity pack here, road works add to the journey, so don't follow the diversion keep going as if the road was not closed, you will be then taken off the closed road up a steep and winding road, its the way we came back. Bath traffic nightmare, we parked at the long stay but had aimed to park and ride. Then our final day was at Street Shopping Village, the Clarks Shoe factory, well worth a visit many bargains to be had, good playground, thus no shopping in bath itself. Dog walk is in woods, so boggy after rain so go prepared, many poo bins about, easy to walk up the main road during non peak traffic times. Only marked down due to too few showers(her nibs went to another block and didn't queue) and a bit of road noise(as said to be expected really). Overall a great site. Remember the Longleat discount CC tickets via the CC website link, and the money off vouchers for food/drink and toys from the shops - big savings. We took nibbles into the grounds during the day. Fav bit the bat cave, worst bit the monkeys they wreak your car. It is worth paying the bus fare if you are desperate to see the monkeys. They take even flush fit parts, fav items wipers, washer jets and pipes, rear wipers, rear washer jets, parking sensors and any plastic trim etc etc We were still driving past bits of peoples car in the Wolf section. Last but not least, cannot fault the current wardens, the site is a credit to them, they are there but not intrusive, very welcoming and open. You'd have to go far to find a better a site.
