September Away

The site was great, wardens were very helpful we have been in September for the previous 2 years but  this year there seemed to be many more caravanners out and the site was busy. However the facilities were maintained to a very high standard by the staff. The mobile fish and chip van that visits the site was great and appreciated by all who used it. We like the Looe area and will return again next year. The only negative is the Wifi and that is spasmodic sometimes good but mostly poor, I think that in this day and age when we are encouraged to do most thing on line like banking etc the Club needs to improve its Wifi provision, especially when you have to pay for it, when we are abroad most sites offer free good quality Wifi.

LOVE LOOE

We have stayed on this site before and it was as pleasant as ever this time round.  One issue is the intermittent wifi which meant that having paid for it, it was not always available.  The wardens could not be more helpful and the location is great for visiting a lot of places in Cornwall.  We visited the Eden Project this time and enjoyed it very much, even though it was pricey.  A bus service is just outside the gates so if you have no other transport you can at least us the public one.  A few more hardstanding would not go amiss, but this is already being addressed by the club.

Looe Music Festival weekend

Only 30 minutes from home, great for the weekend. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. Printed out the walk to Looe for us. The toilet block was so clean. Our only moan was that we didn't get there earlier enough to get a hardstanding. (Our fault) Will certainly be back.

Lovely Looe

Stayed here on 19/9/15, over the weekend of the Looe music festival. It was quite busy this weekend but the pitches are spacious and well laid out. Unfortunately the pool had been closed a couple of days prior to my arrival so I missed out on my swim! Facilities were good although there was an unpleasant drain smell in the ladies shower block at times. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the walk into Looe only takes about 35 mins and the bus stops outside the campsite. I would certainly stay here again.

What a great location for Looe

Myself and my husband have just returned from Looe Caravan Club site where we stayed for the Looe music festival. The location of the site is ideal,as there is a bus stop literally just outside the entrance of the site which takes you into Looe, but what's even better is for the music festival a courtesy bus runs, it stops at the same stop as the normal bus, and it only cost £1 each way. The journey is 10 minutes and runs until 1 in the morning.  I will tell you about the site first. It's lovely ! Very clean ! Great shower blocks. Plenty of showers, toilets and private hand basins, there are also 2 hair driers in the ladies toilets. There is a dish washing room, again plenty of sinks. They have clothes washing/drying facilities. Good ELSAN point and grey water disposal. There is a small shop on site, selling the basics. The is good WIFI on site. The site is laid out really well. Each unit has plenty of space. The views are great over the rambling hills. The wardens are very friendly, helpful and humorous.  Now, as I mentioned earlier the reason we were in Looe was for the music festival http://www.looemusic.co.uk. It's a really fab weekend. Lots of music, not only at the dedicated venues, (2 of which are on the beach, what a great backdrop to watch music), but around the town in the pubs and in the winding streets. Looe really is a quaint place. There is music for all tastes.  If you like music, food and beer then this festival is for you. 2016 the dates are 16th to 18th September.  Get yourselves to Looe Caravan Club site where you will be made very welcome !

Happy Campa

We stayed here in june for a week, found the wardens very helpful and patience, facilities clean. Bus service great just outside club entrance. The location is great lovely places to visit near by. Only problem we incurred was finding a flat pitch for our Motorhome,( we are going to purchase some higher ramps and hopes that helps in the future) the site was very busy and choice restricted, but as I said earlier the Wardens were very helpful to us and patience we changed pitches 3 times with no complaint from them. Would go again and recommend to others.

A good base for the area

We stayed here in mid September when it was quiet and no children and it suited us well. As its well located for this part of Cornwall I can imagine it being different during the school holidays. Great choice walks into Looe and a good bus service if you dont fancy the long climbs on the way back. The bus service is from the camp entrance with choices of Looe or Plymouth. A very small and basic site shop, but a short walk away is the Park Dean site with a good shop, restaurant and bar. The wardens were friendly and its a site we would return to.

Good but not that good

The site is well situated  good for for walks great fish and chips at the Coddy shack   Far too many dogs, poop around our site on arrival. One warden a little over officious, he must have been a traffic warden or the like in a previous life. Very noisy at times with the wardens  on their toys

Keen to close?

We had a stay of 6 days here. While the site was clean and tidy, we did not find it very relaxing. Too many pitches all close together, it was close to full when we arrived, but found many of the showers and toilets were closed down ready for the winter, it took several complaints to reception by us and others before they decided that late season or not, club members are also entitled to decent facilities. The swimming pool was also closed early without notice. Came away with a strong feeling they could not wait for the season to end. The mobile fish and chip van should be changed, the food was ghastly.

Too busy for us!

We managed to get a short notice serviced pitch for our Motorhome. The last spot was by the play area which was ok as there were no children on site. I wouldn't have wanted to be in that spot in high season though. The site was clean and tidy and well cared for but the showers could do with being refurbished. We had stayed in comparable sites for less and the same money with stunning facilities nearby.  All in all it was a good site for families and people who don't mind lots of others around. For Us it was a little too busy.
