Lovely site

We selected a hard standing pitch at the bottom of the site, it was so peaceful. Could not fault the cleanliness of the whole site. Pool was a bit shallow for a good swim however great for a quick cool down dip. The dog walking area is quite small and there were no walks directly from the site. You really had to get back into the car or the bus to go anywhere. All the beaches we visited on this side of Cornwall were not dog friendly so a trip to Holywell Bay on the north coast was in order on the hottest day of the week.  We do love it there so it was no hardship. Looe is lovely especially when the tide is in, you can walk to Polperro along the coast path and get the bus back if your legs ache. We found the best pasties at Pasty Presto..... Ummm so tasty.  The site shop only really had a few basics but you can always pop to the shop on the site next door or yes get back in your car and go to Looe.  Can't fault this site at all, the children enjoyed the crazy golf and play area.  Would go back again but probably without the dog!!

A top site

One of our very favourite sites - we have stayed here more times than any other single site. Excellently managed by first rate staff on site, exemplary facilities and even an outdoor pool in the summer months. We shall continue to return.

Highly recommended

Nothing to fault here. Extremely friendly staff.  We visited here with our 4 Golden Retrievers and were welcomed so much more than any other camp site! Some People assume with 4 big dogs that they will be badly behaved (which they are not)!  staff commented on our 3rd day what fantastically behaved they were!  The facilities were wonderful and so clean and modern.  There was a lovely dog walking field which was very handy as well as a wonderful Fish n chips shop less than a mile away (The Coddy Shack is well worth a visit)!  A Truly wonderful Camp site

A very special site

This was our second visit in consecutive years. The site is excellent and extremely well maintained. The toilet block and facilities are immaculate. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is good to explore the charm of the associated area. One disapointment is the wifi system which does not operate satisfactorily in the far corner of the hard standing area.

A week spent in beautiful Looe

This site is large...but I didn't feel it was overly big. I guess that was given to it being naturally split into two with one area of grass pitches and one of almost entirely hard standing. Each area has an immaculate toilet block and in the centre there is a lovely dog exercise area. The site has great facilities for families inc. heated pool, tennis, crazy golf and a great play area inc. a ball area...I guess in school holidays it will be very popular. The vans are laid out in a formal fashion and there are huge conifers that could really do with being removed (imo). Anybody booking this site thinking they will have a leisurely stroll into Looe, think again. Though only 2 miles distance it is not an easy walk -- though there is a bus stop right outside. Looe was really nice though and Polperro and Fowey stunning. It is a short drive up to Bodmin Moor where you can see the Hurlers (stone circle) and the Cheesewring, both a short walk from the village of Minnions. This site is a credit to the club but in particular the fantastic wardens who keep the place immaculate and were really great. Would reserve a mention for Glyn who was a really special guy and it is obvious he loves his role.

Maybe not for us

Very big site which felt slightly soulless. Wardens welcoming and facilities kept clean. Good 20 min walk into town and seemed much longer coming back up cardiac hill. Bus service available but finishes very early evening so walk or expensive taxi if you wanted to go into town for a pint. No doubt very busy in season but just not our kind of site.

Superb stay made special by the wardens

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our 2 young children.  The site was as a immaculate as the best we have seen, with great facilities for kids.  However what really made it for us was the consistently warm welcome from the wardens, especially towards the kids.  The location is great for Looe with plenty to do locally.  For a simple lunch in an unusual location visit the treetop cafe at the nearby monkey sanctuary - we loved it.
