It's quite a number of years (15 plus) since we last stayed here and having virus restrictions on travel relaxed etc it felt good to be heading back out in our 'van' and to a place we had neglected for too long. The site hasn't changed much at all and is an ideal location for this part of the dale, unfortunately though the facilities on site haven't changed much at all either. Showers are extremely dated although always kept clean and the present protocols seemed to work quite well and not taking away from the usual friendliness and warm welcome from the wardens. The worst aspect is that the motorhome waste point is situated on the fairly narrow exit by the office and with our waste outlet on the drivers side meant holding everyone up! Surely this could be re-sited perhaps by the garage area? I'm sure it must cause considerable frustration to people. So come on - this site deserves some investment! Other than that easy walking into Leyburn on the paved main road (busy traffic) or the more scenic route up the lane and over a couple of fields. Cafe's and pubs now open and generally well observed Covid-19 systems in place. Great walking on Leyburn Shawl and by the River Ure - lots of paths to head out on and enjoy!
