Great site, first class wardens.

First class site, flat great location for Ludlow, which is within easy walking distance. Very clean and tidy with first class shower block. I would like to say an extra thank you for the care and helpfulness shown by the wardens after my wife had a fall and broke her wrist on the walk back to the site from Ludlow, such kind and helpful people. We look forward to returning in the near future. David Bevans

October 2016

This site is large and flat with many hard standing and serviced pitches. Only one toilet block a long walk from some pitches. Very neat and very clean. The toilet block was immaculate and warm. Needs a second toilet block to be 5* . The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Ludlow is a good town to visit and a number of National Trust places nearby.

Two night stay, 11th & 12th October 2016

To comment on the previous review it took my wife and I 30 minutes to walk from our pitch in the adult area of the campsite to the first bridge on the outskirts of the town and we are quite fit!It takes another 5/10 minutes to flog up the hill to the centre of the town. The campsite itself lacks a bit of character however this should improve over time when the trees and bushes grow (the site is quite new).

Good site but.......

Just read CC review in October's magazine. Time to be precise and tell it like it is, Caravan Club, regarding distances from towns and walking times! The 'short walk' is 20-30 minutes minimum (40 for us) along a very busy road with a narrow pavement on one side - only just enough room for our two dogs. Not a pleasant walk. Another thing to note is there's no access to the river which we particularly wanted for our dogs. The off-lead dog walk was very good, however as was the site overall.

Great facility but!

The only issue that prevents this site from being five star is the location of the amenities block, it is just in a poor location at the entrance to the site and not in the centre, leaving people a long walk in inclement weather to use the facilities. Other than that the super pitches are great.

Pleasant stay

Just returned from 9 nights stay, we'd planned it around the food festival and it was our first proper trip out in the new motorhome. We have 2 elderly labs and asked to be as close to the dog walk as possible and they were happy to assist and we were in pitch 124. The pitch was what we needed but there are nicer pitches further down over looking the fields.  The bus stop is right outside, we only used it once (because we had to restock the food and didn't want to disconnect the motorhome) and was pleasantly surprised that a return ticket into Ludlow was only £4.80 for both of us.....well worth the money. The other occasions we walked in, at a steady pace it does take about 30/35 minutes each way but that gave us an excuse to have another glass of wine!  Ludlow is lovely and we took the river walk up to the castle (turn left before the Charton Arms and you'll see a foot path on the right), just before the castle was a fab little cafe by the river where we stopped for lunch, very warm welcome and lovely views of the river and the weir, they offer blankets to stop you getting chilly while sitting outside. It wasn't the cheapest lunch but really nice to just take in the views, they also allow dogs. Will we be back - yes!

Visit: 21/7-28/7/2016

Excellent site with very friendly and helpful staff. Everything is explained to you. Very well-stocked shop with both essentials and nice to have additions for campers/caravanners. Only one toilet/shower block but it is very well maintained and plenty of cubicles. Excellent showers with temperature control and shower curtains. Every Friday and Saturday, a fish and chip vans visits and has the most superb food on offer including stunning triple-fried chips and battered black pudding (don't knock it - try it !!). Very spacious for larger vehicles. I have an American RV and had no difficulty whatsoever around site. Services pitches are excellent. I would definitely visit again.

Immaculate

What a well-kept site, new roads, easy distance of town, good sized pitches, shame we only had 1 night here. I would suggest to Morris's that a second facility block would be beneficial, it’s a long way from the end of the site to it if you need it urgently!! Would have been nice to walk along the river but all the gates were locked. Would use this one again.

Summer Break

Stayed for 5 nights from 18th August. We had a lovely greeting from the staff on arrival 20 minutes before the site acceptance time. we were able to enter straight away. The site was immaculate and all the services you could need although we decided the £15 per week for the WIFI was not necessary. The toilet facilities were always clean and tidy, including the bin areas. The shop had everything you would need in case of repairs and sold the essentials. A great time and would recommend staying to anyone who wishes to explore the area.
