Just arrived home from our first visit to this site. We were pleasantly surprised to find the facilities as per the c club standard, as is the site in general, wardens very friendly, informative and helpful. As mentioned previously the Gorge is a must visit, easy walking distance from the site, be prepared for the 'come and join us' hard sell at the pay kiosk, by the National Trust bods. We caught the bus to Oakhampton and walked the Granit way back, a good 9 miles, a bit of plod, but a flat easy plod. Visited the Castle Inn a couple of times, lovely atmosphere, excellent food and value for money, cant say the same for the Dartmoor Inn. Didn't walk the moor much, weather too cold. We're saving that for next time.
