It's only 60 miles from our house but could be a million miles away in terms of a relaxing, easy going break. Our stays vary 2 - 5 days and we generally head there 4-5 times a year. This visit was up to the usual high standard - Relief wardens in the office but a warm welcome as always. Our usual serviced pitch was open so yay - right in there. Facilities warm, clean and usual high standard - never appeared busy despite the weekend being pretty full. Local amenities and shop in Melrose excellent - Chest Heart and Stroke shop has got to be one of the highest value shops of this kind - all sorts of expensive goodies at low prices. Strangely same could be said of the town whisky shop where I managed to land a very good malt at half of the advertised prices in other shops- result. Only advice is book early, on rugby weekends Melrose is a busy place and pitches go quick.
