May Road Trip

Stayed here for a week as the halfway point on our Road Trip. The cost of a week here equalled two weeks on CLs - the chemical "cupboard" was very smelly and the facilities could be upgraded. Directions and access all good although this is a very busy area with the shop car park and parking for adjacent playing fields. So take care on the final approach. The large Co-op on the corner is a real bonus - not far to go for a daily newspaper and a pint of milk. There is road noise from the main road behind the site. Dog walking is good - you can easily get to the riverside - plenty of green space around the site. Melrose is a pleasant town with a variety of shops and eating places - the Abbey is worth a visit. Borders Towns were a disappointment for us - but Kelso is lovely and there is history at Jedburgh as well as the Mill Shops. It's obviously a very popular site so does this justify the cost? Would we come again - probably not, we realise we prefer the value CLs and sites without facilities provide.
