Minehead in February

Just returned from a week`s stay at this site. First time we`ve been. Many of the pitches are not the same size as you`ll find on many other Club sites. There`s room for your caravan and awning but then you have to park your car in front of both; can be a tight squeeze for those with large towcars. The site actually faces north ish so you`ll not see much of the sun for a lot of the day. In spring and summer the many trees will give shade, if ever it`s needed. You cannot take your outfit around the site to find your pitch; the roads are too narrow; so you`ll have to walk from the warden`s office.....have some wet weather gear ready if you arrive in inclement weather. On the plus side the one central block which houses everything is handy from most pitches; the facilities are spotless and the wardens friendly. You`ll receive a key for the toilet/shower block on arrival. Don`t be tempted to leave the latch off when you enter. The site is adjacent to part of the town and, therefore, its public who could, possibly, use the facilities for `free`....not recommended really. The site is just a ten minute walk from the town. Minehead has all the shops you could want and more and is handily placed as a base from which to tour this superb county.
