Tight Access

We booked this little site for a one night stopover. The location was great and the wardens were very helpful. However, if you have a large outfit be very very careful when entering and exiting this site. We have a twin axle, under 3metres long. The entrance is off a small B road which in itself was no issue, however there are no road markings into the site. You take a left directly off the B road (through gates which are approx 4m wide) then a tight right hand turn straight away to go through the barrier. There is no lane for new arrivals like most sites. Our twin axle caught the gate (which had black and yellow tape on it so had obviously been bit more than once!) and scratched the side panel pulling the awning rail away. It is a tight site to drive round and after speaking to the wardens they told us that all large outfits had to exit through the in barrier. As I say nice wardens, we didn't use any facilities so can't comment on them but if you have a twin axle please be careful when using this site. Another caravanned on the site told us we should have gone into the wrong side of the road before turning left!!. There is nothing on the website or caravan club website to advise caution on entering this site. Our van was only 4 weeks old, brand new so as you can imagine we are absolutely gutted. If using this site please be aware it is tight for twin axles.
