Disappointing

I have just returned from my first visit to Devon. I was disappointed, although contrary to above comments, I found the access road ok. I only have a camper van and can see that larger motorhomes and caravans may have problems. The staff at the site are lovely and working under extreme pressure at the moment. I do feel that the pitches should really be allocated, as I had to drive around a very busy site to find a relevant pitch. There were far too many people on site, I was expecting fewer numbers and I thought that the band system just didn't work, as soon as the cleaning was done, the bands went missing. Also, with those numbers on the site, I feel the facilities should be cleaned more than once a day. I did note however, that some of the visitors did not seem to worry about how they left the facilities for other users, with regards to hygiene. The signage regarding queuing and how to use the facilities was not adequate, people were queuing inside the shower block which is not the way at the moment, this caused confusion inside and too many people too close together. I did not feel entirely safe from covid whilst on this site. The shower block also requires an update fairly quickly, there were toilet seat lids on only some of the toilets and the tiling and grouting all round needs either replacing or thoroughly cleaning. Yes, it is a busy site and times are very difficult, but I feel these are issues that need addressing. I am afraid it is a non return for me.
