august visit

Usual high quality facilities. Friendly staff and helpful. Our visit was at the height of the school holidays and the only drawback was the speed at which children on bicycles were riding around the site. Apart from that we will be visiting again (when the children are back at school). The woodland setting is really good. Pitch spacings varied around the site. All in all a lovely site.

Great location, super friendly staff

As other reviewers have said, they didn't waste any space when they planned this site! It is closely packed with minimal space between pitches. Having said that being very close to the lovely 'Moreton in the Marsh' it is very well subscribed and was full on our visit so many of us would have been disappointed if we couldn't have booked due to better spacing.  All the facilities were super clean (typical of most CC sites) and the staff I met were super friendly (a pleasant change from many sites 'officious' wardens) The play ground was off to one side with the dog walking area so minimal disturbances from the noisier members of the family.

Nice location, cramped site

Really good location for exploring the Cotswolds, and for a walk into town for provisions etc. However, site feels very crowded with little space between pitches, (cars park in front of van, not to the side), making towing around the busy site, and pitching up on some pitches rather difficult for us as newcomers. Also, due to the lack of available pitches, our pitch backed onto the busy A44, which is noisy at all times. On another pitch, away from the road, this would have been a higher rating.

Well Done

We arrived and were greeted by friendly staff (to my surprise they even knew who I was before I introduced myself). The site itself was well cared for and the facilities were clean and to a high standard. The play area was a great relief for my son to play in. On the first night we were unsuspectingly sited along the road (the site was full and we didn't have a lot of choice) which became busy at 5am so subsequently we relocated to more peaceful pastures for the next 4 days . Overall a very pleasant stay and we will be staying there same time next year. Tip: don't pitch up along the roadside.

Centre of the Cotswolds

We were made very welcome by all the staff and everyone was very helpful. The site is close enough to walk into the town and get the bus to other places i.e. Bourton on the Water and Stratford. The only thing not good was the TV reception. We had to buy a cable to get a picture on the TV. Overall lovely site.

Great site and loads to do

A great site with friendly wardens, clean facilities and lots to do. We're walkers and enjoyed the footpaths in every direction through lovely countryside and beautiful villages. It's pretty easy walking but with some surprisingly steep hills in some places. We'd recommend the walk to Blockley - take the Monarchs Way path past Batsford arboretum and carry on to Blockley. Once you reach the village follow the signs to shop/post office and you'll come to a fabulous community run cafe. It's just over 4 miles each way and you can reward yourself half way along with one of their all day breakfasts, homemade cake or light lunches. Lovely!  We'd also recommend the Welllington museum over the road if you're interested in engineering or the 2nd world war and the homemade fudge shop Sweets Etc.
