Nine Happy Days

Went for a peaceful week and that is what we got. Wall to wall sunshine for 7 our of 9 days which was very lucky. Would visit again without any problem. Wardens were all new at this site and the assistants were much better than "The Warden". He did not have the "oomph" that the assistants had.

Park needs attention

I have been on this sight three weeks recently unfortunately thissitenow needs a bit of attention I have spotted rats on a couple of occasions I think this needs attention only saw the warden once on site didn't bother complaining about this as spoke to a follow caravanner who had already done so  hedges surrounding pitches are badly needing trimmed brambles etc trailing onto pathways such a shame as was a good site

Message from The Club:

Thank you for your feedback, we are aware of sightings of some vermin on various parts of the site, we have engaged and retained a qualified pest control contractor to assist the site staff with eradicating the vermin from the site. We will continue to monitor the situation and we plan to have ongoing regular visits by our appointed pest control contractor over the remainder of this season as well as this coming winter closed period.

The site team have a continual regime of maintaining the trees & bushes on site and we do receive numerous positive comments in relation to the condition of the site and the vegetation advising that it is in keeping with the surrounding environment.

Mixed Feelings

I recently returned from this park, 1 day early. It is a lovely area and the park could be much better. I was disappointed at the lack of gardening, trimming of wind breakers and clearly no vermin procedures. The park is full of rabbits and birds, which is nice, but to sit in my awning and spot not 1 but 2 rats coming out undergrowth right next to my van is unacceptable. The plants are not maintained, there is brambles, raspberries, lupins, ferns and gorse bushes taller than a small person (5ft) they are not thinned out and brambles stretch out over paths. This would help in minimising rodents. These area's are at least 20 feet across, you wouldn't walk in it, surely good caravan space.  I certainly wouldn't go back here with the park in this state. I did tell one warden there was a dead rabbit on one path and asked if he moves them, the reply I got was only if they find them! So how many are dead in bushed area's?  It wasn't all bad Wardens I met were friendly, although I didn't see much of them on site except in office. I was there 12 nights. Beach is beautiful Rabbits, birds etc lovely to see around park. Great nature haven. Great that local produce can be bought on site too. Rodents I know are there, but they should be controlled.

Peaceful and lovely site

We arrived at New England Bay on 31 July and stayed for 3 nights as part of our tour of Scotland. Lovely clean site excellent toilet block very friendly staff good local knowledge. We cycled to the Mull of Galloway which is quite a ride and quite a climb on the way but lovely views and well worth it when you get there. Nearby Port Logan is a nice little place but there is nothing there in the way of shops ,pubs ,tea rooms which is a shame. The site is perfect for the beach and if it's peace and quiet with a close beach then this site is perfect but I don't think I could do much more there 3 nights was adequate.

A Place in the Best part of Scotland

When I left the M74 heading for New England Bay I didn't expect the A75 to so long and arduous; moreover, I got a surprise to find little chance to get some fuel along the way!! However, I suppose I could say that the journey was well worth it because the site was everything that others have reviewed. Friendly staff a great location and even fish and chips on a Friday night. Facilities were clean and easy to find and the peace and quiet was something to behold. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Seascape

The first and abiding impression of this site is space and sea. Stretched along the edge of New England Bay, this idyllic site exudes peace and tranquillity. The wardens keep a tidy well run site, with imaginative ornamentation decorating the reception area. A beach side site, it is ideal for shore walks and water sports and fishing. Only a few miles from the most southerly point in Scotland, we visited the lighthouse, RSPB centre and restaurant at the Mull of Galloway. Port Logan is a lovely hamlet on the west of the Peninsula, and Logan Botanical Gardens displays many semi tropical plants which grow well in the temperate climate unique to this area thanks to the proximity of the Gulf Stream. This somewhat isolated site is well worth a visit.

Great place to stay

Thoroughly enjoyed three nights in our Scottish summer (the rain started the day we left!). Lovely location, liked the random nature of the pitches. Facilities well kept and clean. Friendly welcome. Torture for the dog because of all the rabbits and having to be on a lead !

Top Drawer

We just had a 3 day stay at New England bay. On arrival the staff were super friendly and very welcoming. We found a great spot right in front the beach and the pitch was easily long enough for our 10m American RV. We had our three GK's with us and within five minutes of getting set up the youngest fell of his bike and cut his eyelid....Great start ! Well, news travelled fast and in short order one of the wardens came over to our pitch and very kindly offered to run the little tyke to the hospital in Stranraer to get him checked out. Back he came not too worse for wear with just a little plaster above his eye. Many thanks indeed to the staff, I wasn't relishing the thought getting there in the RV. So, to the park. What a lovely site it is, there are some nice secluded single unit pitches if that's your style to open field type pitches and a good few that face the sea not 20 yds from the lovely beach. The pitches are well kept, the site overall is exceptionally tidy and the facilities clean. We had four dogs with us and as a dog lover it was nice to see a few more visitors with multiple numbers of mutts as well. Can't rate this site and the staff highly enough and we can't wait to return for another go......hospital visit aside. Many thanks.

Fantastic

Has to be one of the best sites we have stayed at in 13 years ! Great welcome from the Wardens usual high standard with the facilities.  The Wardens are fighting a never ending battle with the rabbits so watch out for the holes.  Pitches are well kept and some of the most spacious we have encountered and best of all not regimented.  Superb for the dogs straight onto the beach and the views and scenery are amazing. The site was quite full but had a really nice holiday feel to it.   Easy to find and good access - it's quite a drive for most but most definitely worth it - a must on our list to return
