Seascape

The first and abiding impression of this site is space and sea. Stretched along the edge of New England Bay, this idyllic site exudes peace and tranquillity. The wardens keep a tidy well run site, with imaginative ornamentation decorating the reception area. A beach side site, it is ideal for shore walks and water sports and fishing. Only a few miles from the most southerly point in Scotland, we visited the lighthouse, RSPB centre and restaurant at the Mull of Galloway. Port Logan is a lovely hamlet on the west of the Peninsula, and Logan Botanical Gardens displays many semi tropical plants which grow well in the temperate climate unique to this area thanks to the proximity of the Gulf Stream. This somewhat isolated site is well worth a visit.
