Repeat visit

Spent the May day weekend here to celebrate oh 60th birthday and couldn't have picked anywhere better.this was our 2nd visit and it was every bit as good as the first. The pitches are generous, the facilities are excellent and spotless clean, it's great having the beach next door too. We had fab weather. While at home in Yorkshire it snowed and settled, each morning saw lovely sunshine which continued until tea time when it clouded over and got windy,  rained in the night then back to sun in the morning. We'll definitely be back, highly recommended.

Superb site perfect for us two and the dog

This is a superb site, right by the side of the sea which has lovely pitches, well spread out but close to all the services. The wardens were all super, helpful and friendly which makes the stop there all so much the better. We have been there twice before and will be back again without a doubt. Toilet blocks were very clean and warm when the weather turned a bit inclement, the waste disposal was well organised, the access to the beach area and coastal walk was great between the gorse bushes and the dog loved the chance at some freedom that close to the van. We found we needed the satellite dish for TV reception but that was ok. The fast food visiting van was very welcome. We were so lucky with the weather every time so we have been asked to go back regularly

Outstanding

So we arrived for our holiday with a bit of a disaster  .The Air suspension popped about half a mile from the site ..We were rescued by an amazing man who was passing in a van. We got to the site and the Assistant Wardens and Warden couldnt have been more helpful ..it was a Friday evening and they got us onto a pitch and made sure we were ok ..bit traumatised since we were traveling with our kids. The site couldnt have been better. Its a pretty big site , with 2 toilet blocks and a game room with ping pong and pool ...which was a life saver since we were site bound till the car was fixed. The beach was less than 50 yds from our caravan ..Perfect for walking our dog ..This site is amazing ..the pitches are all seperated into little enclaves which makes it feel intimate but not crowded. The real stars of this site are the Warden and Assistant Warden who were just lovely...I thouroughly recommend this site ..for families, couples ..anyone ..Its a beautiful part of Scotland with plenty to do and the scenery is just stunning ..Kids even made it into the sea in April .

New England Bay.

Stayed in April for two nights. Very peaceful, great layout with all the gorse bushes separating units. Facilities very nice, all perfect, in fact. Great for kids.

Stunning site

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2015 on a tour round southern Scotland. What a stunning site, glorious views, easy access to the beach which is dog friendly too. The pitches were generous and well set out, with bushes all around it felt very private. Facilities were immaculate, great showers with plenty of hot water. Wardens were helpful which is always a bonus. We went to the mull of Galloway which is a must, more stunning scenery and a lovely coffee shop. Booked again for May day weekend but for 5 nights this time. Can't wait.

Stunning site with large pitches and wonderful views.

If you like peace and quiet with incredible views, then this is the place for you. This was our first visit and we'll be back. The wardens (Ian and Jackie, Kevin and Karen) were ever present and ever helpful; even though the electric kept repeatedly tripping for some reason. I spotted an oil-filled electric radiator dumped by the bins on the third day; although even if this was the culprit, it should not have tripped out 13 hook-up points every time! Less frustrating was the lack of wi-fi during our stay, although you could connect if you stood in the information room. The toilet blocks are clean but not very spacious and the laundry room we used is good, although the dryer wasn't particularly effective. Disappointed to see a motorhome user washing their breakfast pots in the sink when there was a room designated for the purpose next door. During our stay over Easter and the week after, we experienced every type of weather; including gale force winds, rain (awesome rainbows), hail, sleet and glorious sunshine (I got sunburnt on our last day). The site provides immediate access to the beach and the priority for us was to explore the possibility of boat launching. Shingle is likely to make things difficult for launching anything on a trailer but anything else is no problem. There are public slipways available a couple of miles down the road; not as convenient but will use them if we have to. A pity, as 10 minutes with a tractor fitted with a bucket would easily clear some of the stones sufficiently to provide easy access to the beach. There is a boat wash area near one of the toilet blocks so makes sense to encourage boat users to come! Plenty to visit in the area, but you'll need the car. Mull of Galloway lighthouse, Port Logan and particularly Port Patrick are well worth a visit. Stranraer is good for shops, and everywhere we went had free parking. If you've not been before, take the coast road to Ayr; beautiful. There is a games room and play area on site but facilities/activities for children likely to be limited if the weather is bad. All in all; a lovely site and, as I said, we'll definitely be back.

Lovely site.

This site is ideal for a nice quiet break, pitches are huge . Only thing is there are only 16 hard standing the rest are grass which do have a few rabbit holes in them. Site is well spread out with two toilet blocks which are kept nice and clean. Wardens are friendly and very helpful. Only gripe we had was the wifi was not available unless you went up to the site reception. This should have been tested and up and running before site opened on the 18th March. Other pain was near the end of our stay over the Easter weekend the power kept tripping , apparently due to the caravans using to much power!! If this was the case why did the bollards not trip? Instead of the main power switch for the thirteen vans involved.  But in all this is a very nice site lovely views over Luce bay and out to the Irish Sea, and on a good day you can see the Isle of Man .

A nice site

Our first visit to this site.  We liked the way that pitches were separated by natural vegetation, which also helped to provide a windbreak over the stormy Easter weekend.  Great views over the coast and excellent rainbows.  In bad weather it might be a little challenging for some families to find wet weather activities, although a visit to the lighthouse at the Mull is a must.  The beach (stoney) provides a great space for dogs to run around, but watch out for them chasing rabbits on site!.  Staff were very friendly and are always bustling around the site to keep things tidy.  It was a shame that the wifi connection had a problem over the whole weekend, as the mobile reception on the site is pretty ropey.  You need to drive to see anything and the roads can be narrow.  Portpatrick and Logan Botanical Gardens also worth a visit. I'd certainly go back again - preferably when it's not so windy!

Fantastic little site in a great location with great views however there were some problems with the electric supply to our pitch and others which is not what you want in cold windy weather. The staff were very apologetic but no sooner was power restored when it went off again. That said we have booked to go back to this lovely site in the summer
