A good reason to join the Caravan Club

This site is just lovely. It's immaculately clean, the facilities are first rate and the wardens are cheerful and always ready to help. We’ve just returned from our Easter break. It’s our second week long stay with our first last October. If you have children then go in school holidays and there are hordes of children for your kids to play with and make lots of new friends. We use two-way radios to keep in touch as this is a fairly big site. When we arrived the site was completely full but didn’t seem crowded. By the end of the week the site felt really spacious. Lots of good walking and cycling nearby with easy access to Lymington, Lyndhurst, Christchurch Bournemouth and Poole. Take you kids crabbing in either Lymington or Mudeford harbour. If you want peace and quiet then simply avoid the school holidays. Thanks to the wardens for keeping such a great site.

Cracking Easter break

Just returned home unfortunately, we had a great 8 day break here it was supposed to be 7 days but we were enjoying this site so much we added a night, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the facilities were kept to a high standard will return here again soon as it was a good base for exploring Hampshire and the surrounding seaside towns.

Lovely site

We have just returned from a lovely Easter weekend at this site. It is a large site but with very modern facilities, the site was fully booked but there we no queues for the showers. It is a nice quiet location, no road noise just some cows in the field behind us. Although this is a large site it didn't feel as spacious as some of the other CC sites we have stayed at, maybe the roads are narrower and the pitches not as deep which gives a feeling on the vans being much nearer. Overall a lovely place with plenty to see and do in the area, the shop was also well stocked. PS - if they forget to raise the barrier for you after check in just honk your horn - they seemed to forget a few times leaving us and others sat at the barrier waiting to be let in :-)

Immaculate modern site

The site is immaculate with well spaced pitches, two large shower blocks, dog walk and a nature reserve area, and is centrally located for the New Forest while being handy for the Coast and Lymington (for the Isle of Wight).  The shower blocks are immaculately clean with plenty of facilities and plenty of hot water. There is also a very handy dog wash outside. There are a couple of pubs in Bransgore, which is about 2 miles from the site along narrow lanes, so a bit more than easy walking distance if you are not very mobile. There is a selection of take-aways in New Milton and a Sainsbury's on the A35 outside Christchurch. Plenty of local information available in the reception buildings and a small selection of essentials (and fresh cakes!) on sale.

Easter Weekend 2015

We visited this site last summer holidays, and liked it so much we returned for this Easter. The site is clean, well maintained and has friendly staff. There is lots of space for the children on site, and beautiful surroundings. We, as somebody else mentioned, had power outages on the Saturday evening, but they didn't last long. Lots to visit in the surrounding area, and lots of stuff arranged for the children over Easter weekend! Sure we'll be back!

A well run well located family site

We have stayed here twice and both times found the site well run, organised and ideal for a family holiday. It is a large site but is compartmented so feels smaller. Play area and dog walk are good. The location is great with walks locally in the New Forest yet it is also close to the coast. The wardens sold croissants, pain chocolat and baguettes over easter which were delicious, and arranged competitions for the kids. Good also to see a dog/bike wash - excellent after dog walks and bike rides in the forest. We will be back.

Egg-cellent Easter break

This site is in an ideal location for visiting either the New forest or the seaside towns nearby . This was our third visit to this site at this time of the year, being very popular , it was full over the bank holiday weekend, the shower blocks were kept clean and warm and never over busy . Overall a very good site and hopefully will visit again

Nice site but poo bin needs attending

On arrival, the obviously busy staff seemed to be trying out a system whereby one member of staff took the check in and another did the map work showing club members where the available pitches were. This was fine up to the point where we were waiting to be let in through the barriers, and waiting, and waiting....for quite some time before we finally got in. We eventually found a non awning pitch in the area called Typhoon (after the famous aircraft). All was well with the pitch and a good standard in the toilets and showers. It was only later into the Easter weekend that it became noticeable that the poo bin at the entrance to the (nice) dog walk field was getting very full. In fact it got so full that a small mound of poo bags was building up under the bin due to it being so full. Well done to all of the dog owners who were doing their bit to keep the area clean, but please can this bin be checked a little more often? On the Saturday night, there were four separate power outages for either the whole site, or at least the whole section that we were in. Probably one of those things, but it was a small niggle. All in all a good site that just needs some attention to detail.

Lovely site shame about the staff

Having never written a review before I felt incensed to this time. Arrived to this site for a long Easter weekend, with family and friends. Staff were slightly off, not too friendly when we arrived but put it down to them being busy. There were 3 touring families in our party and we all commented how lovely the site and facilities were and how close we were to visiting local sights. We all decided we would book again for later in the year as there is so much to do. However, each time we went in to the shop the staff were miserable and unhelpful. Especially on our last day when we asked if we could stay until 2pm in the afternoon and we were happy to pay as the weather was so good. I was met with a grumpy NO, we are full. However my friend went to reception after me and asked to stay another night and was allowed!! Not that full then!!! I know our pitch was not used the following day and there were plenty of pitches available to newcomers. This has completely put me off visiting again it doesn't hurt to be courteous with a smile. Shame as this was probably the best site we have stayed on, and we have stayed on quite a few.

Great site, Let down by rude Staff

I have been visiting this site Since 2009. The site wardens back then were amazing and really took pride in what they do. Every time a unit left out would come the lawn mower. They were always out and about on site making sure everything was ok and stop for a chat. Our visit this Easter however we were met by new wardens and I have to say the worst welcome to the site I've ever had the female warden was dismissive and quite snappy. My dad enquired whether he could upgrade to a services pitch but met with dismissive attitude and the same attitude when asking about hard standing "I know best " attitude. The same behaviour was shown towards my wife when she tried to make a purchase from the shop. I've never seen this site so in kept the grass was so overgrown everywhere you couldn't walk anywhere on the grass without the bottoms of your trousers soaking up moisture. If I ran the caravan club I certainly would think twice about the a wardens running a site again. It has upset my wife so much that she's thinking of staying somewhere else in future which is a shame as we visit this site 3-4 times a year.
