Shocking

The best bit was the view, that's we we choose this site, that and to do Oban. This was the first and will be our last visit to an affiliated site. Some campers gave your pitch no grace, even walked between our car and caravan even. Despite moving our car they still walked close enough to touch. I agree with the below, not the most friendly site either. The toilets were dirty, seems some campers don't clean them out, I bore witness to many. Grass filled showers, manky plug holes, and push to go taps. Made washing up a pain, couldn't fill the bowl as was forever pushing buttons. Staff friendly and helpful, the welcome talk may as well include a bit about respecting pitch privacy! As they covered everything else, OK great PR but I'd rather get on pitch asap after along drive not sit through war and peace. No pitch markers, so you have to be shown to the pitch = more delays. 10amp site, you can easily trip the pitch trip, the whole site can in fact trip out under heavy load:( Well stocked shop, ideal for those emergency meals. Post box also in the shop near reception. Good play ground, good walking and dog area/walk as old train lines. The Creagan Inn is fab, 10mins drive Northwards, pricey, but great views, service and food:) We wont be back, 2 nights is enough we stayed for three and were happy to leave. Do Oban, a seal trip in a boat and the Tower(ample parking). I must question when this site was last reviewed by the Club. I do not feel it deserves Club backing. Its a Caravaning Site on an industrial scale, and it shows! We'd choose another. This is the worse site review I have ever had to write.

Fantastic views.

The views were fantastic at this site. It is quite a bit out of Oban but is lovely and quiet, Well stocked shop and you were shown to your site by a warden. I was lucky and very near the facilities but some folk had quite a walk (especially bad as it was lashing rain). The way it is set out doesn't make for a lot of camaraderie. Great having a dog walk on site.

Motorhome pitches

On arrival quick check in, no waiting around lots of staff on reception. Shown to pitch by warden and all facilities explained by him once at pitch. All motorhome hard standing pitches seemed to be in same area with easy access & great views. Back onto old railway which is the dog walk, which is low down in relation to the pitch, so no problems.( we have a dog so a bonus to have dog walking area in middle of site) Great shop on site, best we've ever seen on a site. 2 x motorhome service points, so no waiting to empty/fill , one with toilet cassette empty/wash/dose machine for £2.00 which is a novelty... once for 2 quid! Water pressure is low ( as are most sites in this area) so filling takes a little while to top up the tanks. Electric hook up points are locked so be careful not to overload or trip breaker (sorry didn't note rating of breaker) but have 24/7 response on site number to reset if needed. Didn't use the washroom/toilet facilities,(use my own on board van) but had a look and were very clean.Overall great site, every pitch has a view.

Great views

This site has lovely views but I found it too regimented. Some pitches have very long walks to the toilet block! It appeared to be good for families but we stayed here as a couple, so it's hard to make an accurate comment.

What a view.

Fantastic views from all pitches, all facing the sea. Shower blocks very clean and modern. Oban is 6 miles from the site and a ferry to Mull is a must. £6.90 return for a foot passenger.

Good site in Good location

Spent a couple of nights here. Really enjoyed it. Easy to find, accessed from main road.Very relaxing and loads of good walks for our dogs. Having the beach at the site was good for the dogs. Toilet block was very clean and warm. Staff at reception were welcoming and helpful and the adjoining shop was very well stocked. This is a really good site.

Very nice views

Easy access roads and entrance to site with large area to park while visiting reception. Care needed when leaving as cars can come at you fast although generally a quiet road. We were taken to a very good pitch by the warden who guided us in so I did not need the mover. Very nice view of the sea and islands. Pitches are offset so they all had a clear view. Water and drainage points are regularly placed and flat to drag your water. Toilet blocks are kept spotless, there was a cleaner present every time I visited. I tried the shower which has fancy lights you run your hand along. I got a blast of cold water but when I turned it to hot it became luke warm so I had a quick shower and got out. I had to get behind the curtain to get dried as the water did not turn off for a few minutes. Small stool too low to sit on. Not recommended waste of money? Normal set temperate showers better? Poor shower is why I marked facilities down. Shop looks well stocked but we did not use it as plenty shops at Oban about 7 miles. Sea has shingle beach ok to paddle with old shoes on. Very calm when we visited. Good for teenagers and people with boats. Some people were fishing. Play park on site. Oban is very nice we parked in Tesco car park, free for 3 hours. Ferry and boat trips available and lots of shellfish stalls, cafes and restaurants. Very nice site with polite staff.

Fabulous site.

We stayed at this site for one night on our tour of Scotland in a hired motor home. This was the first time we have visited caravan sites and it was brilliant. The staff were so helpful when we arrived and we were given a pitch on the sea front with spectacular views. The facilities at this site were excellent and the toilet block extremely clean. We will definitely go back and stay for longer next time!

Friendly helpful staff

We stayed 2 nights here. At the airfield end, which was not a problem, but walking to the one and only toilet block was a pain. I have arthritis, please build another block up the airfield end. The push button showers lasted (each push) 20 seconds on my first day, and 6 seconds the second day. So I spent my time pushing buttons, the water was lovely and warm. On the positive side, it is near Oban, a lovely town, and a visit to Cruachan Power Station is a must. The site staff were extremely helpful, and friendly.
