Ledaig - lovely site

Stayed here for 9 nights and a returning visitor from last year. Its set on a large open area with a disused railway line running through it and views of the bay and Mull in the distance and great sunsets if your lucky with the weather.

The check in staff are really helpful and knowledgable, pitches are large and there is plenty of space around, the only thing we would like is to select your own pitch, but these are allocated, someting to consider, but we had a lovely pitch. There is only 1 toilet block here located in the middle, facilities are excellent with large shower cubicles and were immaculate.

The only issue for us are the dishwashing taps and you have to keep pressing the tap.. every 10 seconds...come on Ledaig everyone complains about them so please change them to something easier to use.

There is a bus-stop right outside the site so really easy to get to and from Oban running every hour and its about £4 return fare. There is an Aldi, Lidl and Tesco all near the bus terminal so you can restock. We took many walks along the railways track, favourite into benderloch and frequent visitors to the cafe who serve fantastic scones. Theres also a pink supermarket who sold the best galloway salted caramel ice cream, there is also a garage in the village.

We also walked into Tralee for fish and chips, very nice too.and a nice walk back along the beach. There is a national cycling path and we took many trips along it to the wildlife sanctuary, left out of the site which aslo has a nice cafe, or a trip on the loop into Tralee, take a trip to Appin in the car if you have time, its really lovely with a pub at the end, highly recommended.

We also tried the pub just past the airport overlooking the river at North Connell, food was nice but we thought the drinks were rather expensive @£3.40 for a lime and soda. You cant buy the weather so this year was one of the wettest but it didnt stop the enjoyment of this lovely quiet place.
