Good for families

Peace and quiet with the bonus of wildlife.

In 2015 we decided due in part to the lesser spotted warden and how the site had run down we wouldn’t return, we missed 2016 but saw reviews how it had been turned around we have now been back in 2017,18, 19, the wardens Joy and Kingsley have made a massive difference to this site it is now how it should be. We have just returned from our latest visit and sadly was informed that the wardens of 4yrs are moving to pastures new, I just hope that whoever takes on this fantastic site has the same enthusiasm as this couple and maintain the standards that we now got. The site is well located for Whitby or Scarborough it is quiet and peaceful most of the time apart from the Cuckoo calling from the early hours but if you like birds and wildlife you don’t have to leave your van to see it, we saw hares casually walking down the drive on many nights with deer frequent visitors near one of the dog walks. Just a short walk from the site easily accessed via the dog walk or by road is the Falling Foss and the Cafe in the Woods and I can recommend their sausage sandwiches and desserts, also just a short drive away is Beacon Farm ice cream parlourwhich is well worth a visit. So Joy & Kingsley Thank You for making this a beautiful site once more and leaving it in a much better state than you must have found it 4yrs ago, we wish you good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future.
