Good for families

Peaceful setting.

This site is hidden away down country lanes and it essential to use the routes suggested. We used the one in the sites book rather than the one on the website and it looked far better but care is needed. The entry is on a single track road with only one passing place which cannot be seen round the bends and could do with improvement. The site itself is a minimum facilities site with almost no external noise and totally peaceful if that is what you want. Plenty of room between pitches. There are numerous places to visit in the area though and plenty of walks so is good for either. There are no facilities and possibly not a site for children though. Perfect for those who like peace, walking or visiting local tourist sites. There are a few shops in Rothbury, but not a lot of choice there, so possibly it is as well to bring your own food if you can. My o2 phone had no signal most of time, but my wife's on 3 did work, a cable is needed for TV although we lived without and did not miss it. If it suits you it is perfect and cheap.

with the narrow approach to this site keeping to the departure time as a max is essential also those who are arriving get there after 1 pm . at the entrance off the road the gent who lives there sells eggs from his chickens and the proceeds go to the air ambulance. there are some  good shops to get your supplies from in rothbury an excellent butcher's and bakery.also there is a good chippy also pubs that have various menus for all tastes.
