A Well established Caravan Park in a great location

We are regular visitors to this site so have seen it at various times of year and in all weathers. The Hard standings are quite small and all surrounded by grass which you have to drive over. Pitches are on a slope so Ramps or chocks are needed. All pitches are positioned to give you a good view of lighthouse etc. Normally the grass is very firm, however at start and end of season it can get soft and muddy if there is a lot of rain. Wardens have gripper mats if needed to get you off. Last week 17th March ground was getting churned up a bit. Site can be windy as right on the Coast. Toilet block is small but adequate. There is no area to park if you arrive early and site gate gets closed between 1200 and 1300. On sea front before you get to St Marys Island turn off there is a large open car park suitable for units and it is free. Just outside the park there is a friendly pub that does food and it is dog friendly. There are good bus links to Whitley Bay and Newcastle and bus stop is approx 0.5 miles. The Coastal path to Whitley Bay and Seaton Sluice is adjacent to the site. Seaton Sluice approx one mile away has great Chip Shop and several Pubs plus a nice Cafe. St Marys Island is a nice walk, however it is tidal. Buses connect with the Metro system. Tynemouth Station has a great market each Sat and Sunday and Tynemouth is well worth a visit. Local Co-Op is approx 0.75 miles away and has most things you need. Whitley Bay has nice beaches which stretch all the way to Tynemouth. Site is on a good Cycle route. Enjoy Your Visit Andrew
