Nice mix of hard standing & grass pitches

Well located in a peaceful area adjacent to a country park access to expansive beach. Sustrans bike routes 4 & 47 accessible for some lovely scenic rides, the millennium cycle path around the coast to Burry port, Llanelli & beyond a delight. Lots to see & do from this site. COVID 19 made the facilities problematic.. 2 persons only at any one time.. if both having a shower no access to toilets or sinks for those waiting outside.. should be 3 labelled pegs ...1 for each type of cubicle. Wardens helpful & busy keeping site in good order.

Location, location, location

Location, location, location - and this site is perfect. Sand, cycling, sightseeing and walking are all on your doorstep. We loved the layout with a good mixture of pitches to suit everyone's taste and so quiet and peaceful - we slept so well during our 12 night stay. Thanks , as always, to the wardens for keeping everything clean and tidy, particularly during these times of covid. We certainly felt safe and clean at Pembrey from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay - well done wardens. Would we visit again? You bet we would. We loved all the great cycling routes on the NCN tracks using the train to return on our linear rides to Camarthen and Swansea. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and are already planning a return visit next April.

Disappointing

We have visited this site before and it is in a lovely location with great walking opportunities. This visit however was spoilt by the facilities which are so very tired to the point of being rather unhygienic. Added to this the covid arrangements in place meant that the facilities were insufficient for the number of people on site as only 2 people were allowed in at once. Also, the additional toilets were not in use at all, neither was the washing up area. There were always queues for the facilities which is not acceptable. There was a notice on the door of the facilities which stated that if they got disgusting, they would be closed! What is this all about, particularly as the facilities are not locked and so could be accessed by all sorts of people. This is a nice site but the facilities need to be sorted out and dealt with as other sites are in terms of access.

Wild and windy weekend

I read some of the previous reviews and was slightly concerned, but honestly, there’s no need to worry. The wardens were extremely friendly, sociable and very helpful. I made enquiries previous to our arrival wanting a hard standing, due to weather forecast, and on arrival, with their help everything fell into place. If you’ve got small children there is a children’s bath/shower room, which was great for our little granddaughter. The park for children had been updated and was very popular. We had a very pleasant (and windy)weekend with the grandchildren, they loved it. It’s a shame that not all visitors leave facilities like they found them. Thank you wardens for all your hard work, pleasant smiles (behind your masks) and cheery waves.

Carlsberg don't do wardens, but if....

Others have described the site,so I will only add my view that the single toilet block is inadequate and extremely tired.Clean, but tired. Thanks to Sally for being the nicest warden that we have met in 20 years with the club.So nice to see somebody good at their job and managing to stay relaxed and friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere on site and this was thanks to the wardens in general. We'll be back soon.

Organisation

I agree with previous review, having been to other club sites recently, this site needs to review its regime for cleaning and make facilities available for longer. Take some advice from the team at Looe would be my suggestion.

Dissappointed

We have visited this site on numerous occasions, the last time about four years ago. On arrival the warden was very abrupt and this continued throughout our stay. I appreciate the current situation with covid means that members may be required to queue for the facilities, but it doesnt seem right that as the site was completely full, the facilities were closed for cleaning between 10:00am until 12:00pm and again at 14:45-15:30pm, without an alternative toilet being available (thankfully the toilets by the beach were open). We visited the Brecon Beacons site the weekend before and they did leave an alternative toilet open during cleaning. Unfortunately due to the attitude of the staff on site we have cancelled the further two bookings for this year. As members and regular users of club sites, I must say that this is the only site that despite passing staff on numerous occasions during our stay, they did not speak or acknowledge us at any time. I appreciate this is an extra busy time for them, but they are not the only people to work extra hard during this pandemic.

Camped in grassy area in among trees - I loved this site

I enjoyed that I could chose which pitch I wanted to stay on - the whole site was laid out well and interestingly with groups of trees. I was warmly welcomed with information and a map and really enjoyed my stay.

Great Location for family but tired.

Excellent staff excellent service. Great location lots to keep you occupied, also nice to sit back and take it easy. Very good access. As others have said the toilet block is in need of updating its very tiered. As usual a few people who think the rules don’t apply to them, ( car being driven wrong way around one way) as 1 example. Thank you wardens for your hard work.
