Disappointed

This was our first stay at this site.good location, facilities were spotless. However, although it’s a rural location on a country park, there is often a continuous noise from a nearby racing circuit which really spoiled the tranquility of the site during the day. Half way through the week, all of the bins at the service points were removed for reasons unknown, meaning you had to do a long walk to the site entrance to dispose of your rubbish. Although the facilities were clean, shutting them for cleaning between 10.30-12.30 was a poor choice of times.why couldn’t they be closed in the afternoon at anytime?,and I didn’t appreciate being barked at by one of the wardens that the facility was closing for cleaning at 10.25. Whilst the site had rules,it seems the wardens were a bit haphazard of how and when these were implemented.there is no dedicated dog walk on site,so you have to walk off site to allow for dog exercise/toilet,one morning my wife was chastised abruptly by one warden for the dog doing its business, although we always clean up after our pets.we noticed other campers dogs doing the same, but not being challenged.although there is a 10 pm traffic curfew,on a number of occasions vehicles were driving around the site after 11 pm,and although there was a Covid ‘no visitor’ rule, the motorhome next to us had visitors staying.? We found a couple of the wardens ‘sergeant’ like and this took the ambience of the site away. Unfortunately,if you have a less than perfect holiday you tend not to go back or recommend a site which I would apply here. Shame.

10pm traffic curfew? Since when?

The people staying with your neighbours were, if they 'stayed', not visitors but booked in traceable customers. Only casual day visitors are not allowed.

Facilities are closed in the mornings for cleaning on most sites because wardens are busy dealing with new arrivals later in the day. Not ideal, maybe, but the staff can't do 2 things at once.

Why would this site need a dog walk? It has a bottom gate and a main entrance both opening onto hundreds of acres of parkland.

Firstly, the 10 pm vehicle curfew is in the site rules handed to us by the wardens.

the visitors to the Motorhome next door were definitely not ‘booked in customers’.

the next club site we moved onto seemed to manage closing the facilities in the afternoon and book customers in with only 2 staff.given the fact there were at least 4 wardens at this site,I’m sure they could manage.

I never said the dog walk was a problem?,simply stating a fact to other dog owners, there’s no dog walk on site.

next?

Next? Only to point out there is nothing in the site rules in general, or the online Pembrey leaflets in particular about a 10pm vehicle curfew. I know there is a vehicle curfew in the Country Park rather than the site so maybe that’s where the confusion has arisen.

Visitors - I trust you made the warden aware.

Closed for cleaning - I did say on "most" sites.

It sure sounded to me as if you considered the lack of a dog walk to be a problem but, there you go, I've let dog owners know that dog walking is one of the best from CAMC sites.

Personally, I think it's a shame you won't be giving this great site another chance.

The site staff do not hand out club rules when booking members onto site. There is no 10pm curfew for vehicles on site. The staff at Pembrey do not bark rules to any members. The facilities are cleaned between 10.30 - 12. This is done on all sites. The site staff have a limited timescale as they have to be back in the office in time to greet new arrivals. The bins were taken from the service points as we have introduced a new waste management scheme. This in fact has been welcomed by most of our members as they fully understand how the need for the site staff to be protected. On a normal working day staff members have been handling more than 100 black bags of rubbish twice a day. The new system is much more safer.
