Peaceful site.

Just arrived back from a week at this site, as has been previously said all grass, some parts alarmingly sloping particularly if you have a long van with the fear of bottoming out when you block up the front, we were encouraged to use these pitches because we have a 4X4, these are the pitches with best views over the Sound with lots of boating activity, but chose a flat pitch, at the top, which was ok by the Warden, as these pitches seem to be 'reserved' for campers. This is a very peaceful site, well maintained, we were there for a week, but it generally seems to get used for stop overs for the ferry's, so quite busy in that respect. The club directions are spot on, but take heed that when it says turn R by garage, it is a blind right turning 'before' the garage, and you cannot see the garage until you are on top of it, we overshot it twice, once with the van on the back and once without. On arrival to the site, you drive into a right turning, which is hidden from the road, you can easily overshoot this as well, and as these are narrow lanes, one can get into rather a pickle........I think a sign on left hand side at the turning would help. We are country bumpkins so found getting out and about through the traffic to go anywhere quite busy, but with Dartmoor on you doorstep, and the coastal path we were in our element.

Fabulous Site & Views

Plymouth Sound is a fabulous site kept in brilliant condition by the hard working Wardens who are both very helpful, the views are brilliant over the Sound. There are no hard standings, all grass which is not a problem. The local pub (The Mussell Inn) is well worth a visit beautiful food & only a 5minute walk away as is the local shop. Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic

We have been to this site several times and it has never failed to deliver, The site wardens are fantastic and offer a personal service helping you to select your pitch, and they make you feel very welcome, if you are looking for peace and quite and jut want to take in the fabulous views this is the place for you. No doubt this is due in part to the lack of on site facilities which I am sure help to keep away families with young children, this combined to the small site really lets you get back to the essence of camping,100% recommend we be going back again very soon i miss the views already !

Wonderful

We chose this site for the location - and boy, did it deliver. The view over the outer breakwater is fantastic, with never ending activity from Warships to Jet Ski's. The walks from the site are terrific also with loads of wildlife on view and so, so much history around. Very friendly and helpful site wardens also, who made our stay particularly pleasant. We would highly recommend Plymouth Sound CC site, but only if you are comfortable using your own facilities.5*

Location , Location

Just had 9 nights at Plymouth sound & what a beautiful site it is , the views are spectacular over the sound & breakwater. we had a pitch that backed onto the playing field fence with fine views up to Dartmoor too . Excellent dog walk field , lovely village pub & nice cafe down at Boveysand beach , but it's a steep walk back up the lane . Relief wardens were there for our stay & did a totally excellent job , site was kept in first class condition always. A truly peaceful & relaxing stay , with plenty of places , locations to visit within easy reach. Definitely a 5* site .

First Night

Having never owned a Motorhome before we chose this site as not too far from home for our first stay away.  On arrival the site warden welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful.  Our pitch was great with lovely views.  We had our dog with us and it was no problem as there was a separate dog walking area within the site. The lanes near to the site are quite tight in places but we managed.  Really recommend a visit to this lovely site.

Sound site

We stayed two nights during our round uk tour. Fantastic site with wonderful views from most pitches. Wardens were very welcoming and informative. The local pub Mussell Arms serves great food and allows dogs. A small shop just in the village centre will provide most everything including cycle parts Only downside the local beach does not allow dogs anytime of year and it's a long walk back uphill for DOTs (dinosaurs on tour) Well recommended site
