Good for families

Sadly not great for Motorhomes

Firstly the facilities on site and the wardens are up to the usual high standards of the club. What let’s this site down for motorhome owners without other forms of transport is the lack of local walks from the site and the roads into Richmond are fast country lanes without footpaths. The site is 3miles from Richmond down hill. There are no shops or a pub nearby either. The bus service to Richmond was very limited times and whilst there were timetables posted in the information but there was no detailed advice for campsite users, and no map of the routes. Just 1 bus no29 passed the site entrance on the way in to Richmond and on the way back you have to ask to get off on the north side of the A66 because it doesn’t go up Hargill hill. Taxi was £10 each way. At the top of the site the noise from the busy A66 dual carriageway is off putting through the night. Basically the site is very limited for motorhomers
