Nice but a bit isolated

Stayed at this site for a week in our motorhome but with our son who was in a tent which was easily accommodated by the wardens which can be an issue with some CC sites! Usual site facilities and well kept site with a bonus of a refurbed toilet block. There is a well stocked petrol station shop within walking distance but that's it. Thankfully we had a car with us and we needed it. Usually being motorhomers we rely on walking or cycling but that will not work at this site.   If you want a quiet peaceful camping experience then this is it, but you need to put the miles in to get anywhere.

PEACEFUL AT POWBURN

A really nice site, with a great toilet block. The Wardens work really hard here keeping the whole site tidy as it also covers a large area with picnic tables by the river. As the lighting is low key you can see lovely night skies. There is no road noise at all. We will be back again.

Our third time

We really love this site for its peace and quiet and there is so much to see and do in the beautiful Northumberland countryside and coast. This was our third time here and it was up to its usual standard. A great place for anyone who loves walking and wildlife.

Lovely site

We stayed here as a family of 2 adults with 2 young children. The site is very safe for the kids to cycle around, but apart from that there is very little else for them to do, the 'play area' is just a field with a small goal post in it, but to be fair, we spent most of our time out and about visiting the area. The facilities were spotlessly clean and very well maintained and the wardens were always cheery and helpful. River Breamish is excellently placed for visiting sites around Northumberland and only a 15 min drive into Alnwick. There is a petrol station with attached mini supermarket at the end of the street who do fabulous local burgers and sausages for the BBQ. A word of warning for visitors with younger children, there is potential for the kids to come across Adders in the long grass, the wardens were quick to point this out and there were quite a few signs up about it. All in all a very nice well kept, quiet site in a fantastic location.

Gem of a site

Stayed here last week and had a great time, friendly and helpful wardens, possibly the best dog walk of any CC site and good facilities. the fish and chip van provided good value for money and very tasty, a supermarket albeit a bit pricey at the end of the lane was handy for those bits you forgot when in town. The site was lovely and peaceful and well maintained, the facilities nice and clean. There's not a lot for kids to do here apart from ride bikes around or play ball games or similar up in the small play field. We loved our stay here and will be returning next year to get round a lot of the area we missed on this holiday.

Great Location

We were able to choose from a number of pitches and out pitch was really good with good space and a large grass area just for us. The on site dog walk is excellent and just along the lane there is a large lake also with a good circular dog walk around it. The facilities were up to the usual CC high standards. The site is ideally located to visit the area. Be careful if you park in Alnwick, I did not notice that you require a parking disk and it cost me a £25 fine!!!!

Peace and Quiet

Have just returned from a week at this peaceful, well-run site.  The facilities are excellent and maintained to a very high standard - Thank-you Wardens!! The location is convenient for all attractions and the beautiful Northumberland coast and the site ideal if you just want to get away from it all.

Dull Breamish

Excellent site facilities, alas we found the caravan park bland, dull and overgrown.Apart from the facilities the only thing going for it is the geographical location to other attractions.Could do with brightning up with maybe lots of flowers (there isn't any)and maybe lighter coloured hard standing pitches.Oh and more sight lighting.

One of the best sites we've stayed on

We have just spent a week here and found the site perfect for a stay in Northumberland. It's just 20 mins from Alnick, a very pretty town with all you need, not too far from Bamburgh, the islands,Berwick and Hexham. There are also some lovely walks along the river Breamish and around the lakes close by.  The facilities are very clean and spacious, pitches are a good size and the stewards are extremely helpful and friendly. If you have a dog you don't have to get in the car to take them for a walk either.  Really enjoyed our stay thanks

Lovely Site

Very helpful wardens with our big outfit, very clean and well kept. Brilliant walks on and off the site with hides available to watch the wild life. Definitely will be using it again, lots more to visit in the area.
