Weekend stay

This has always been one of our favourite sites as it is usually so peaceful. However, during our recent stay I felt uneasy about the amount of balls been kicked around by children, near people's caravans. There is an area for ball games but it seems this is not being used as much. I know children need to "let off steam " but I worried all weekend that my old but loved van would be damaged. Otherwise a lovely site and well looked after.Facilities clean.

Chill out time

Lovely quiet site, bird song all the time, not much for children perhaps that's why we enjoyed it!. I was concerned that there was no security barrier which I come to expect on CC sites. Thus no restriction on movement at night(not a problem whilst we were there) and anyone can come and pitch at ANY TIME. I was also disappointed with the service we received on arrival and for first few days...NB this was from the relief wardens...and I did mention it to the main wardens when they were back on site.

Excellent site, pity about the adders!

We enjoyed a 5 night stay at this site. Beautifully maintained and toilet and shower facilities are the best we've seen at a club site. As dog owners the only issue we had was the warning notice of the presence of adders both onsite and the surrounding areas. We encountered one on the nature walk when one of our dogs, who was on lead,  nearly trod on it. It meant that at all times we had to keep the dogs on lead except beside the river. For that reason alone we will not return to this site but I highly recommend it to anyone who loves peace, quiet and nature and is happy to keep their dog on lead.

Beautiful

This is the second time we have stayed on this beautiful site surrounded by trees, it is almost like being in a park, and so peaceful, also the dog walk is fantastic along the river bank with picnic benches dotted around, although it says dog walk you definitely don,t need a dog to go there it is so lovely just for a stroll and a picnic of course, we will back again soon.

peace and tranquility

have just stayed here for 4 nights and could not fault it in any way, the site is spotless and well maintained the choice of pitches will have something to please everyone, the facilities block is very clean and the staff are very pleasant. the site is great for people wanting to be close to nature with its own river bank and nature walks and the nature reserve next door. The garage in the village has a well stocked shop or there is a co-op food store a few miles up the road in Wooler. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that it will keep me coming back for many years to come.

Security concern

While as always I could not fault the site as described. My only concern was we had no security gate or bar and on more than one occasion I watched as vehicles both cars and vans drove around the site. Maybe looking for easy pickings or do I just have a suspicious nature.

Clean Peaceful Site

Cheerful freindly welcome from warden Karen. Site very clean, toilet and facilities block excellent. Very quiet, only sound at night was tawny owls calling. Excellent nature reserve easily walkable from site. We caught a local bus from the petrol station in Powburn to Alnwick for the day for £5.00 return.  Will definately be back.

Bank Holiday Break

We have just returned from a five night stay at River Breamish. We will certainly return. The site is immaculate. The walks around the site are excellent and the staff are great. Due to a minor mishap en route we needed the help of the local caravan repair man. He was also very helpful. We have, over the years stayed at many club sites and this ranks with the best of them. Just a shame the local pub, which is within walking distance has closed down. Now looking forward to our next short break
