Fabulous site and area

We've visited this site almost every year since 2010. It's a favourite. The site itself is lovely. Peaceful atmosphere with plenty of space. The facilities are as good as anywhere. The wardens, and relief wardens (who live locally so are very knowledgeable but sadly this is their final year as relief wardens at this site), are wonderful - helpful and friendly and hard-working. But the main reason to visit is all which surrounds the site, both next door and further afield. It is a brilliant area for road cycling with very quite lanes in all directions. (The A697 is best avoided and easy to avoid. Generally I favour the east side of the A697.) It is also good for running, both road and offroad. There is a lovely parkrun at Alnwick (with easy motorhome parking close by) - it is called The Pastures rather than Alnwick parkrun. Wooler and Rothbury should both be visited. Motorhome parking is easy in both (free). As should the more obvious attractions such as Cragside.
