Good location

Have been to site several times over the years, access road into site takes you away from main roads so it can be peaceful - the Forest of Bere next to site is great for dogs and children alike to let off steam and run about (can get very muddy) Dog exercise field is still a good size as the other half was turned into a camping field ( I won't start on that !!) You can walk into the local village of Wickham- lovely walk with small selection shops, pubs & eateries (approx.1 hr - route has been changed slightly due to landowner) via the woods and the Meon Valley trail (note: One stop is cheaper than Co-op ) Shower blocks are clean & tidy - the usual club standard although a water service point would be good for pitches down near the dog field end as it's a trek uphill on both sides for water and emptying waste. Information room has the usual book/dvd exchange & plenty of info where or what to do. There are mobile food vans couple nights a week, tried the Fish & Chips on Friday night and was impressed - good quality & not greasy. If visiting Portsmouth go in via the Park & Ride - excellent value for money, no worries about parking so just take your time. It stops near Gunwharf Quays - shopping outlet with plenty to see & eat, Spinnaker Tower etc, or take time to visit the Historic Dockyard - well worth it. So apart from inconsiderate site users who let their dogs (four in total) bark when walking them at 1.00am !! or those that continue to walk around the back of your caravan, it's good site in good location with plenty to keep you occupied whether it be sightseeing, walking in the woods or just chilling out with a book....

Relaxing leafy retreat

Only had one night here, but will be back. Its spacious and open, set within accessible woodland for walks. Huge dog field and all facilities very good, with helpful wardens. Great fish & chip van on Friday night appreciated.

Outstanding

This is an excellent site, extremely well-managed by Libby, Paul and the team. Facilities are spotless and cleaned in the afternoon, a real bonus. Pitches are generous and well-maintained, and the shop is lovely and much-needed. We had a warm and friendly welcome here and returned for a longer stay this stay after an earlier visit this year as we liked it so much.

Pleasant stay for the second time this year.

Warm welcome on arrival and swift process. Site was quite full but no problems in finding a pitch. Nice to see a variety of ways you can now position your outfit on a pitch. Toilet block was kept clean but half the showers and toilets were out of action with notices on doors to say sorry not in use. Is this so that site staff have less to clean? By Friday the site was pretty full so things were stretched.

Beautiful clean site

Probably rhe cleanest and nicest caravan club site we have stayed on. The facilities were super and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Arrival and check in was swift and there were plenty of sites to choose from. Wide and deep hard standing pitches with plenty of space around. We had a 5 year old with us, who loved going to the play field and going around on his bike. The climbing frame was blocked off in places which meant there was no real route through it, making it pretty redundant. The play area definalty needs some attention and additional seating so parents can watch easily from a little distance. We hope to return to a really well run and friendly site.

A nice site spoilt by inconsiderate parents and poor cleanliness

My previous review was not published, so second go. We stayed here twice in 2 weeks due to a last minute reschedule. Arrived on a Saturday and the site was full. Kids zooming round on electric motorbikes and a couple of dogs barking from morning until night when anyone walked by. Kids still running round gone 11 at night. Sunday - no servicing of the toilet blocks since the early afternoon, no toilet rolls in two of the 4 toilets. However 81 units left on Saturday including the noisy families and the site was transformed. A quiet site with lovely access to the woods and followed the walk to the pub given to us by the wardens. I just wish the wardens would engage with the disruptive families that spoil it for the majority, oh and maybe check on the toilet blocks when the site is full. Just basic stuff really

Another enjoyable visit

We stayed here with the Grand Children as it has a play area and close to the Hundred Acre woods with access in to the woods for some great walks....just dont get lost ;-) We have stayed here before and love the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, nothing is a problem and they work hard to keep the site spotless. The only disappointment is the state of the play area as it only has one swing functioning instead of two and the climbing frame is cordoned and blocked off in parts making only about 50% of it useable. I may be wrong but I think the climbing frame was in the same state when we visited in March. For the price we are all paying now for club sites, I dont think its acceptable for any facility to be non functioning and should be repaired/replaced immediately. I did mention it to a staff member while on site, but probably should have spoken with the site manager/warden, but did say I would write a review that should be picked up and acted upon. I wont mark this site down because of the play area as the kids had a great time and it doesnt reflect on the rest of the site. It is a great place especially on a Friday when the Fish and Chip wagon rolls up. We will definately be back, love this site. Keep up the good work and fix that play area please.

Great Ferry pitched

What a lovely site with great facilities. We used this site as we were catching an early ferry to Jersey and only stayed one night. The facilities were clean and well kept, the play area was great for our 8 and 10 year old and the pitches were a great size and length. We would definitely use this site again and would definitely consider booking for a longer stay

Lovely wooded site

The drive into the site made me feel that we were going deep in to the woods, which in fact we were! A beautiful setting with many woodland paths to walk and allow my dog to sniff to her heart's content. There has been a change to the walking route to the village of Wickham. It now takes about an hour to walk each way. It is a flat walk for 40 minutes, along a disused railway line, part of the Meon Way. The other 20 minutes are through dense woodland, but the map supplied by reception is excellent.

Good access and location.

This is a lovely site, conveniently located for exploring the south coast. In addition, there are plenty of walks nearby some accessible directly from the campsite. Good facilities and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff.
