Super site in woodland setting.

Following our return to caravanning this was our first stay on a CAMC site in quite a few years, and we were not disappointed. It's a lovely site nestling in the midst of a large mature woodland, approached by a long but well kept drive. Many pitches are hardstanding and are immaculately kept by the friendly and hardworking wardens. The toilet and shower blocks were spotlessly clean at all times, which was an absolute godsend after a full day at a muddy festival! A small but very well stocked shop shares the check in reception where there is information about visiting food vans and the surrounding area of Wickham village (a real gem) and beyond. The campsite team were knowledgeable, helpful and well informed. We couldn't have had a better stay and will be returning soon to explore the beautiful area in more detail.

A lovely site with lots of pheasants roaming

Stay here regularly as it’s near our grandchildren . They love the park and also that the site isn’t too busy so they can use their scooters to go up and down to the shop and get an icecream . Fish n chip van on a Friday never fails to impress . Staff of site are friendly and pleased to see you . A proper home from home , lovely and clean and showers / toilets are all kept lovely and clean. Lovely peaceful site , coming back in September 😀

The perfect getaway location

I have stayed at this site several times and cannot praise it enough. The staff are amazing and even remember you from previous visits. They are knowledgeable and can't help you enough, taking time to say hello and proactively checking in on you to make sure everything is OK. The site is nestled down in the estate and as such is relatively sheltered. Sitting next to 100 acre wood means within minutes you can be exploring and walking or cycling for hours if you so wish. The site itself is layed out really well with lots of space between pitches, which are generally very level with some excellent grass pitches too. The spotless facilities are well located and maintained to an excellent standard. There is lots of open space for the kids to play and one of the best dog walking fields I have ever seen, fully enclosed and safe to let them run free. Dotted around the site there are also some enclosed dog facilities, perfect for a quick relief and a dog / bike wash station is behind the top shower block The regular food vans are great quality and reasonably priced, though if you need more supplies the site shop has a good array and Wickham Square has a generous selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and is only a 5 minute drive away. Many users of the site often live within the local area and are repeat visitors which speaks volumes of how tranquil and appealing the site is. You can still feel like you are on holiday even though it is on your doorstep. If you are visiting Hampshire, this is a perfectly located base to visit Portsmouth, Southampton, The Isle of Wight and even venture down to The New Forest, which is only about 40 mins drive away which may be of use if you like to venture out and about. I genuinly look forward to returning again in the future and get away from it all.

Overnight with a camper van and tent

Great flat pitch with no stones for the tent with the campervan. Helpful staff and very clean facilities. Very peaceful and well kept. Would stay again as had lovely walks nearby.

Something missing

Nice enough site, friendly staff and clean facilities. We just felt there was something odd about the layout. Pitches are spread out well, maybe too well so much so that if you landed one of the remote ones you’d have a fair old hike to the toilet blocks. Unusually serviced pitches gain no geographical advantage despite the extra charge. This site obviously suits ferry users but for us we would give it a wide berth 🤭 in the future.

Always good

Our 3rd trip this year to ROOKESBURY which is our "local" site. Site now tidy again with the grass being mown. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Pitches arranged well to suit access for all types of vehicle. Dog field is best around if sometimes spoiled by bad owners not picking up after their pets. Facilities always clean although like many sites are becoming a little dated. Location is suitable to see the local sites, of which there are plenty, or as we do just sit back and enjoy the site itself.

What a gem

Stayed here for a few nights on our way to the Isle of Wight and were so impressed we called again on the way back home. Great site, peaceful and the dog paddock was brilliant for our Labrador. Wardens were extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Excellent Site and Very Helpful Staff

We stayed at Rookesbury for two nights and used this as a base to visit Portsmouth and Fareham. The welcome from arriving to the good-by when we left showed a very friendly and motivated team. The site has a range of options and being able to choose your pitch is very useful. The nearby forest walks are very good and the walk to the pub and onto Wickham is excellent. The herb gardens and the colourful flowers are a lovely touch and the facilities are kept very clean by the team. Plan to return in the near future.

Another great stay

We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of May 2023. The site is ideally located in the Meon Valley and very easy to navigate to from the South at least. Usual high standard of pitch and cleanliness throughout the site. Wifi reception was particularly poor throughout the site. Very on and off and even when stood outside the main office it was patchy. This did not really effect our stay though. In fact one of our party would assert that it improved the stay :). Great walks from the site to nearby Wickham or elsewhere. Easy driving range of Portsmouth & Fareham. Great play ground area for kids and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Thank you for another great stay!
