Our first trip out this year was to one of our favourite sites not far from home. We have been coming to Southport for a long time and at times have been disappointed in the site although we have always come back. The old girl has had a facelift and is now amazing. As well as the site being extended the old toilet block has been rebuilt and is on a par with the one on the new side. There is a children's playground .whether this belongs to the site I don't know but the children spend a lot of time there instead of racing round the site on their bikes. The wardens are very busy never seeming to stop tidying up and driving round the site keeping it clean and tidy. A short walk into town and plenty of eating places and a lovely walk on the pier. If you have never been here you must give it a try. Oh did I mention the site is across a very quiet road from the sand dunes
