Beautifully kept site

We had heard good things about this site and were not disappointed. The site is immaculate, with excellent hot powerful showers, well mowed grass and a very pretty lake. We arrived after battling through Bank Holiday traffic to a very warm welcome. The wardens were very friendly and it contributed to a lovely atmosphere on the site. There is so much to do in the area and we will certainly return.

Lovely stay, would recommend

Lovely well kept site. We stayed in the adult only super pitch area which was popular. We didn't use the facilities as prefer to use our own. Made use of the dog walk, shame the dogs can't be let off lead, but understandable as this area is not fenced off. The country park 5 minutes away is very good for a walk and you can let dogs off lead there. Very efficent staff when making the booking and also on arrival. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. Can't really comment about how good the site is for families.

An excellent site

This has got to be one of the best sites I have visited. They offer pitches for both families and adults only for those who want them as well as full service pitches in both areas. The site is extremely well kept all centred around a 2 acre lake. The staff are extremely helpful and rightly very proud of what they have achieved. I highly reccomend it.

New Year's eve stay

This was our first trip out during Winter time. We chose this site out those available at that time of the year and because we wanted to visit the Iron bridge gorge. The welcome was friendly and the site was quiet and clean. Would stay here again.

Excellent site

We have just come back from a short 3 day break at Stanmore Hall for the first time, and will defiantly be planning return trips. We had a very warm welcome on arrival with plenty information regarding the site and local attractions. The site is very level and kept to a very high standard by the resident wardens. There is a good selection of pitches for all sizes of caravan and motor homes, they even have a separate area for adults only. There is a good dog run on site and even found this to be kept to a high standard. Although we didn't use the showers on this occasion so cannot comment, but the toilet block was one of the warmest and cleanest I have seen in a long time. The location is fairly handy for places like iron bridge and Telford. Bridgenorth town centre is about a 10 minute drive and has plenty of shops and resurants. If you visit Bridgenorth then you must take a ride on the cliff railway which takes you up from the low town to the high town £1.20 return. There is also a railway station on the seven valley railway. A real must site if you plan to stop in this area.

Warm Welcome

We stayed here Valentines weekend for a couple of nights. It's a lovely clean and pleasant site with a small lake in the middle with seating at varioys points around the lake, which would be lovely if a warm day. We have a dog and although you have to keep on a lead around the site, 10 minutes walk away is what is classed as a country park, which was ok by human standards but the dog loved racing around so you can let them get some energy out. The showers etc are all beautifully clean and well looked after. Tracey who booked us in was most welcoming and friendly. Bridgnorth is a charming town (would recommend The Old Castle for a substantial meal) and well worth a look around, but it is a very good walk from the site and not really recommended to walk particularly with the dark evenings.  We had problems with starting our motor home on the day of leaving, and everyone was really helpful in getting us on our way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here: a really well run and cared for site.

The Best of Welcomes!

We booked Stanmore Hall at very short notice for 6 nights during New Year and were not disappointed. The wardens were very welcoming, if only fellow wardens from Caravan Club site's were of the same calibre! The site itself is of an excellent standard with a good variety of grass, hard standing and super pitch's. The facilities were kept spotless with excellent power showers and well heated. A short drive takes you into Bridgenorth and good walking along the Myton Way and Cardingmill Valley. During New Years Eve, the wardens invited the site to socialise within the conservatory adjacent the shop / reception, with everyone bringing their own drinks and nibbles - This was another lovely touch by the wardens. It was also mentioned that Xmas Eve they did a similar gathering with mulled wine and mince pies. Overall this is one of the best sites we have stayed at and will certainly return in the future.

Great Base

Just returned from 5 nights at Stanmore Hall. Found everything to be to the usual CC high standards but with even bigger pitches than usual. Appears to be well drained (no doubt helped by the big central lake) despite the time of year. A few walks from the site but better suited as as base for driving out to Bridgnorth, Ironbridge and Cosford attractions. Would have no hesitation in returning to explore more of Shropshire. Made use of the 3 for 2 night and CC discount which nearly saved us our CC subscription in one. Made do without Wifi as it was not the CC service. On site dog walk was adequate but a little muddy at this time of year.

A very nice weekend

Just spent 3 nights on this site - 7 to 10 Nov. Lovely place with good clean facilities. Site staff both helpful and friendly.  Bridgnorth easy to get to on foot, although its an uphill walk almost all the way back to the site, so not for the faint hearted. Several other good walks in the forest nearby, and along the river. Unfortunately there are no nearby pubs/restaurants other than in the town. (Motorhomers from Stockport)

Dogs

Disappointed with dog fouling on the Tarmac near our pitch. Not cleaned up by owners or site staff.
