We stayed here one night mid August on our way north and for two nights now on our way south. The site is very conveniently located for travelling north and south being just adjacent the M74, but some road noise as a result. There is a Toby Carvery less than 10 minutes walk away, but advised to book as it is very busy, and good. The Strathclyde Country Park is literally next door with excellent opportunity to walk, 3.5 miles, or cycle around the Loch as well as other family activities available within the park. What has prompted me to write this review is the high standard that the site is maintained by all the wardens, with some nice decorative touches, but the toilet block facilities are absolutely spotless and exceptionally kept at all times. I expect very good standards from all CAMC sites but these are above and beyond. I have never seen any CAMC site kept to such high standards before, all the metal work looks polished including the aluminium shower wall fixtures. This is clearly an example of the ethos of all the wardens. Well done to all of them.
