Lovely site marred by barking dogs...

We had a great week on the site - peaceful, very helpful wardens, immaculate pitches, great walks with pubs and tea-rooms in the village. And then came the weekend. I've never seen so many dogs on a site - owners with 3, 4 and even 5 dogs on a pitch! If they were seen but not heard we wouldn't have minded so much, but there were dogs barking, and some aggressive animals that loudly objected when people walked past their pitches. The Club needs to tighten up its liberal approach to dog owners. Why is it okay to charge for children, but not for dogs? And they should be limited in number as they are on many affiliated sites. I would recommend The Howard - but not on a weekend...

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for your review and we are delighted you enjoyed the site and found our wardens helpful. Please note that any operational concerns can be raised with us as either feedback or a complaint for formal review by contacting the Club directly. As such please can you email UKSitesBookingService@camc.com and a member of the team will be able to investigate. Many thanks.

The absolute and only reason we have a tourer is to holiday at any time with our dogs.  I have never come across unruly dogs.  I have never seen dog waste around the sites.  I have never encountered people with dogs allowing them to freely roam.  I have only ever encountered dogs being....well dogs really!  Yes some are territorial when you pass a van and yes some do bark.  It's a dog thing.  I think anyone who thinks the club will attract MORE customers by banning dogs, or limiting them, is very misguided.  I always choose sites by the doggy facilities they have and I would urge those members who cannot tolerate our fur friends to also check the facilities section out!  Terms such as 'dog walk on site' and dog walks from site' and 'dog wash' are a clear indication that the particular site is dog friendly.  More dog facilities means more dogs!  Just like play areas and children facilities means more children!  You can always of course use CL sites.  With 5 units you are lessening the chance of a dog encounter.

There are more venues now accepting dogs as they realise there is a very lucrative market to be had by accepting them, and not often is there a charge ,we tend to avoid cafes /restraints that are not dog friendly even if our dog is not with us,any one useing a Dobbies garden centre will find they are welcome in all areas including the restraunts

They have even decided now to offer a star (Paw) rating for parks suitable dogs.

It could be said to be a good thing as anyone wishing to avoid dogs could use it as a guide of where not to go undecided

Oh Dear, Why should we be warned not  to go on a CMC because of the amount of dogs on site. I agree with the reviewer, the amount of dogs on site has now got out of hand, but the Club could not care less, all they seem to do is encourage even more dogs on site and do nothing about the irrisponsible  owners. The time has come, in my opinion, for the Club to make 50% of their sites 'dog free' in stead of encouraging even more.
