Good for families

A lovely site, in a beautiful area. With no facilities, it’s probably not aimed at families, and if you’re a motorhomer, you might need to think carefully if you’re keen on getting out and about from the site. All access roads into the village can be tricky, dependent on your experience/confidence. Two great pubs in the village, plus 2 cafes. As caravanners, we took the car and visited Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Pickering, Helmsley, with the highlight being the stunning village of Hutton le Hole and the Ryedale Folk Museum. The heritage railway from Pickering to Whitby is a must; and not just for rail enthusiasts. We managed to get a decent TV signal in the caravan, but mobile phone signal is nonexistent. Free Wi-Fi in the local pubs allowed us to check emails, keep in touch with family etc. Why can’t CAMC offer free Wi-Fi? Overall, probably a little too isolated for us, but glad we’ve stayed at The Howard.
