A disappointing stay (camper van)

beautiful location, well laid out park, exceptional toilet and shower facilities, However, No dog walking area to speak of, area pointed out to me could hardly be described as a dog walking area. booked for 2 nights, 29th and 30th December, on the second night we just wanted a drink but were told all the seats were reserved for people eating. When we elected to stand at the bar and I ordered my drink (Guinness) I was told they had run out and would not get any until after new year. My night was then at an end. If you advertise a bar do not treat it as a restaurant with a licence, only for diners Get organised with your stock, especially if you are the only venue in a remote location

I visit this park from time to time and have used the dog walking facility. It's perfectly pleasant with its view of the Ochil Hills to walk your dog and give it a some exercise,  Albeit, that you might have to go round the exercise field a few times depending upon the size of your dog. Furthermore, you are in the country side and right outside of the park entrance, you can cross the quiet road and walk onto the path beside Sauchie Tower, where almost immediately a variety of paths will open up to take you on Woodland walks.

The Woodsman restaurant doesn't belong to the site, so you would have to take up a complaint there with the restaurant as a separate issue.

I would hope that this doesn't put people off coming to this site because it's very dog friendly and the food in the restaurant has always been excellent when I've visited.

I live in Sauchie not far from the Woods Caravan Park. If you come out of the park cross the road you will find the old railway track head for Sauchie the track brings you out at the Bridge Chippy walk a little further forward from the Chippy and you will find the Mansfield Arms they serve good pub grub and a good pint of whatever takes your fancy go to the lounge section if you want food and a drink. There’s lots of lovely places to visit like the Gartmorn Country Park in Sauchie head straight up Gartmorn Road past the school on the left keep going straight up till you come to the Dam. There’s a small coffee shop there where you can enjoy a cuppa and a snack the staff will direct you where to go for a lovely walk. Take a drive to Bridge of Allan locals will direct you to the footpath that takes you around the Allan Water. From Bridge of Allan drive to a lovely tourist village named Callander. En-route to Callander you find the Blair-Drummond Safari Park. Another day Head for Blairlogie Causewayhead to visit the National Wallace Monument. continue on to Stirling where you can visit the Church of the Holy Rude and graveyard Then take a walk around Stirling Castle. Staying at the Woods Caravan Park should never disappoint if you are made aware  of where you can spend a day out. This is only a small sample of what’s available. I hope the next time you visit our area you won’t be disappointed. Take care and stay safe hope to see you come back our way soon.
