Well kept, peaceful, basic site in the forest, lovely stay

My kids love playing in the woods, and we don't have much in the way of forests round South Lincolnshire, so I decided to take them to this site to be right in the forest - and they loved exploring. We had a hardstanding pitch with the forest right behind our van, perfect. Over the road there's a trail of info points about army camps which used to be in the area. The facilities were fine - it's a shame that there's no toilet/shower facilities, but no big deal - that's why the van has its own. The water & waste disposal points were well maintained and perfectly fine. No play facilities, but exploring the forest more than makes up for that, and there's a pleasant little playground a short drive away in Mundford. The whole site was well kept, the hardstanding pitches were very neatly maintained, and the grass pitches in the little glade in the middle looked nice too. I was surprised how quiet it was in peak holiday season - granted we were there midweek not at a weekend, but still. The warden in the office was friendly and welcoming, and willing to listen to my little boy waffling on at her bless him. My only gripe is the access road, which has quite severe speed bumps and logs laid out in a chicane-type traffic calming (or enraging!) layout - but that's down to the Forestry Commission, not the club site, and didn't really prove any problem - there's still enough space. Overall I'd happily return to this site and probably will!
