Just returned from another 4 pleasant nights at this site. It is an all grass site which we prefer at this time of year. It is a very friendly site and it is good to catch up with some familiar faces whom like us love this site. It is perfectly located for a short walk into town with all of it's amenities. The locals are really pleasant as well. Some great hostelries, most dog friendly. If here on a Sunday, do try The Lord Nelson, just off the market place for sunday lunch, awesome, in our opinion the best in town. There's loads to see in a short drive from Thirsk, really pretty scenery. Try a day trip into York, a regular bus service from the market place takes about an hour and is cheap. The wardens are the best we have ever come across and it's a shame to be losing them at the end of the season due to retirement, we do wish them all our very best wishes for a very long and happy retirement and hope to see them enjoying themselves caravanning for a change instead of looking after us enjoying ourselves. Looking forward to all our future visits to this site.
